re the bar... i dunno how much the foglights + surrounds would go for but it'd be an expensive exercise... found one on eBay which was selling for $80 but needed fixing and foglights too

never thought about the chrome washers on the lights.... if u paint the grill black i think it'd look awesome still though.... kinda like a S402 lol

btw sorry for hijacking ur thread with my pics

Well there you go - thanks for the info. Satin White Pearl. I'm loving it as well. Never would have thought I'd love a "white" BUT . . .

Short term - chrome it is. If someone wants to donate the S402 rims and 6 pot Brembos I'll paint the chrome black in a flash :D :!:

Nice car.

.... and if someone had their grubby mits on S402 rims and brakes, I don't think they'd be donating them to anyone.... some would even sell their first born... LOL.

Wouldn't be giving us any ideas like that on this forum Lukovitch

New grill is here. Well thumb twiddling until the front bar get repaired. Surprisingly the grill came with a full set of attachment clips.

Just got the CREE LEDs for the brakes (Thanks Clarance :D ) Man they're HUGE heatsinks  Guess that's the next mod.

Sorry Digital - poor use of words.

The panel beater is booked out until Mid December when my car will go in for the front bar to be removed and replaced. As such, waiting for the repair.

LED parker install

Well, these massive things went into the rear lights.

Image

In the end, they popped in very simply and were not tight as Clarence initially advised. Felt like OEM to me. +1 to Clarence.

The effect is simply brilliant, bright and fast. The ON response makes a OEM filament globe look absolutely dangerous. When I had the centre as a OEM globe and the two park/brakes as LED it seemed like the OEM globe reached ON a 1/3 of a second later than an LED. Assuming that's correct at 100 Km per hour it would equate to ( 100 Km * 1000 / 60 / 60 *.33 = 9.17) approx 9 meters of distance.

I'm suggesting that if you are concerned about being rear ended by tail gating twits than LED globes are a wise investment. Regardless of the inherent bling factor :)

All kudos to Clarence for the globes - they look and perform brilliantly.

*Makes note to get the reverse white parkers from Clarence just to finish the car off LED wise*

Edit - Forgot to mention that the car goes in Monday for front bar repairs and new grill install. I'm only getting the P&P to install as , well, they have to R&R the original. Why not install the new one instead.

LOL globes are not going to keep idiots from tailgating or rear ending you Andrew. They will however draw the attention of the po po to your dark tinted windows though. Should be able to spot you for miles now like a boxer beacon.

I'm actually not so sure on that Dave. The globes aren't that much brighter it just the response. Look when were together I'll swap em over to one n one and you can see what I mean.

The quicker response means that people behind you know sooner that your on the brake pedal. That has to help.

Repairs - Mark 1 : New Grill

Well, car came back from T & R, although the paint is exceptional, it's just not quite right on the shade of white / pearl / etc. In the end though, my query with Russell (who didn't deliver the car) was meant with an instantaneous " bring it back Monday - we'll get this right". The car was in pristine condition - clean , washed etc. Big points to T & R so far.

The new JDM Sti Spec B grill is in and well what can I say. Lovin it. Never should have left from 2007 to 2008 Spec B model (someone correct me if I am wrong) but I hated that "aero" wing grill from day one.

So new is . . .

Old was . . .

Eyelids are done as well - colour coded BUT I'll check em and might send em back dependent on the result of a close examination. (Note - what double sided tape is everyone using for their eyelids?)

Shame it's not 100% - so the Sti front lip will have to wait.

Looking great mate!!

I reckon you need the slim line plates and centralise it on the bumper.

Look even better with the lip on too!! :good:

I'm liking this post :)

The white is a biatch to match. In my previous Liberty GT when I hit the kangaroo... it took several tries to get the pearly white right.

Good to hear you got the beast back and happy with the results.

Well not quite "happy" yet . . . but happy with T & R's response in redoing it immediately.

Interesting thought RE the slimline plates Steve. Might investigate that one.
