OK... Some progress...

Chris fitted up the whiteline front and rear swaybars for me last weekend (much <3) and Wow! What a difference... Definitely highly recommend this mod... Combined with the lowered/stiffer springs, its a completely different car!

Finally got a bit of fixing up done on the car, when I got the TEIN springs fitted, the workshop who did it obviously didnt get a chance to test drive the car, as the front springs were clunking and banging like crazy! This is due to how close the coils are(basically they just bang against each other, which is noisy and feels "bad")... Anyway, the fix is very simple, an application of "rubber tape" that seemingly fixes her all up!
Finally got that on the springs today, and the workshop owner was kind enough to throw in a free wheel alignment as well, so she is all up and go around the corners now! Very happy!!

Cosmetic's are still waiting, and will probably not happen until at least next week! So in the mean time I will be test fitting up some strut braces care of Ultrex! :D

Sure it isn't the coil buckling against the shock tube? If it's the coils banging against each other, they are binding and you have run out of travel

I didn't look to see where they have wrapped the coils, but from the wear on them before putting the tape on, it looked like they were just too close together!

Its not anywhere near "on the ground"... just your regular TEIN springs AFAIK... will see if I can get a photo to show you what I mean...

nothing to worry about IMO.

its common for the sti pinks to bottom out, i can see the marks where the coils have made contact and also can hear the knocking you describe, most springs a now sold with a liner which looks like heat shrink around the ends of the coils.
Not a soobi anymore, but still slightly dirty

So is it the full length of the spring touching or do they happen to be progressive springs where the coil will progressively bind? If it's the full length of the spring that is banging coils against each other, you have no travel left and should be looking at stiffer/longer spings

Jimmy has been searching for tape since he ordered these pieces. Could be waiting a while longer for installed pics I reckon :D

Haha! Always the way - big bucks spent only to be buggered by a $2 part! Doh!

Jimmy, the stuff I got from supercheap worked great on my eyelids.

I forget the name and have thrown the packets away, but it's black with a green backing. Available in two widths (two different brands hehe), grab both and lot's less cutting :-)

gave in and bought some "cheaper" tape from Supercheap this morning... looks like it will still do a great job, and if it doesnt, then I will rip it off and get the 3M stuff later...

Anyway... phone pics... better, fitted pics to come...

Cheers Dave... I did line up the eyelids on the car and they seem like they will fit well, obviously hard to get a photo of them with only 2 hands though! ;)

Will be attempting the fit this arvo after work, so if you feel like going for a spin around 6pm, let me know!
