Looking at some Defiant model, in 18x8. Am told the right offset can be had readily, checking price with a contact inside Bob Jane. Anybody have experience of GOOD tyres in 225-45x18?

Wheels shouldn't be a problem, all the wheels need to be made to international quality standards anyway.

Tyres, that's a can of worms... really depends on opinions. I have got Toyo Proxes4 and I'm happy with them... I had Hankook Ventus V12 (K110) and they were good too.
What do you want out of a tyre, what defines 'good'? Do you value wet grip, dry grip, road noise, comfort... etc

There are a hell of a lot more options on the 225/45R18 size than 215/45R18's for a start. Keep in mind that it is your tyres that keep you on the road. They are some of the best and often cheapest insurance you can get

Not planning to track it, strike that capability off. Like good grip wet and dry , and preferably quiet and long wearing obviously (havent so far had any issues with the stock Re050A as delivered - can tell readily when the surface changes, so there is some noise).
Have just been warned that to get similar compound spec as the RE050A will not be cheap....Seems there is a Yoko that has grip as good or better, but less life than the stockies, and somewhat cheaper. Will go and check out any tyre threads...

Gmax rims should be pretty good.

Made in Taiwan if I'm not mistaken, & are fairly popular in drift circles... Have a 17 inch sitting in my garage that is ment to clear Brembos

Have been offered set of wheels at $360/ea. Recommended tyre is yoko Advan V103 at $370/ea.... choice now is new tyres, and sell original rims with tyres at 24k, or move original re050a to new rims and sell old rims....Option 2 will be less pocket pain, as its a bit early in the lease to take new tyres...
Any comments please?

Don't have anything bad to say about the Advan V103. They have so far done the job fantastically on mine. Good dry or wet grip. Don't seem to be harsh riding. Get a bit of a howl up on certain concrete highway surfaces but otherwise quiet. If you were running 215/45R18 I'd recommend them. If I was looking for 225/45R18 however I might be looking at the top Goodyear
