Typical, after I posted that to you, the next day it drained itself to about 6%! I don't think it went to sleep properly for some reason..

On another note, this is my latest impulse buy, JezzaH6: I blame you for this one! Probably not quite as easy to fit as the CTS-v cadillacs but I'll see how it looks after drawing them and the knuckle up in CAD.

2003 VW Touareg, they suit 330mm rotors but the 326mm STI rotor is look pretty good. Mounting them is looking a bit harder than the CTS-V brembos at the moment.

Plus I forgot that my spec B wheels don't clear brembos! So this will be a slow project haha

Woweee!
The set on gumtree?
Lmk when you get the adapters done, my pokey enkei’s have heaps of clearance for testing, maybe 3/4” or more than the installed 4 pot brembos :good:

Did you also happen to have the link for the manual swapping write up in the first post? That link is broken haha and I can't find it.

Sorry for pestering lol but I’m trying to get my homework done so I can nail my swap as it’s less than 2 weeks away. I noticed on the write up that you straight up bypassed the inhibitor relay, on the FSM manual it shows the manual equivalent of the loom has a clutch switch there in place of the relay. Does that mean that there’s 2 switches on your clutch pedal and only 1 got used which would be to disable cruise control? By rights I’d also assume that means that your car doesn’t need the clutch pedal in to start?
Also where can I find the reverse light relay mentioned?

No worries at all, I'll try to answer as best I can!

My car starts without the clutch in, I think only the USA model had to have the clutch in? My FSM showed LHD and RHD wiring configurations.

This is the back-up light relay, it was tucked up above the clutch pedal area.

My mates jap Spec B is clutch in to start. In the wiring diagram it has a clutch switch on the manual loom opposed to the inhibitor relay so I think that's what I'll wire in. I assumed yours wouldn't be clutch in since you bypassed the relay completely so that's good because it means I've got an understanding of that part of the wiring. Still not sure how its gonna go because I haven't got the donor car's BIU but I've heard clashing reports on what the story is with those. Has anyone given you concrete info on the BIU? I know you swapped the donor one in but did you try start it with the automatic one?

Strange, does your wiring diagram look the same as this? This is what I used for my car. If my car was meant to have the clutch in to start, I would have bypassed that anyway.

As for the BUI, I didn't try to start the engine with the auto/original BIU, I thought they were tied in with the cluster and ecu and secuirity stuff?

Yeah people bypass that clutch switch on the manual cars a lot of the time. It's in that diagram parallel to the inhibitor relay.
Speaking on that note, I just did a bit of experimenting with my car.
There is 2 relays mounted side by side on top of the TCU. One I have confirmed is for the reverse/back-up lights, the other I thought was the inhibitor relay however the car wouldn't start when I tried bridging it. Ignition and dash came as normaI but wouldn't crank. had the TCU unplugged. Would the neutral safety switch on the gearbox be related to that not cranking?
