Been a while since this car got some updates but have finally got around to some.

Cadillac brembos are on, the mounts came out pretty sweet and fitted perfect. The rotor spacer plates need more attention to detail than intially thought as the slightest variation (few hundreths of a mm) in thickness causes the rotor to runout too much. Managed to get well under the subaru and DBA limit which was good. 340mm rotors are JUST too big for these calipers (at the moment anyway), not sure if they would give any performance benefit but would look pretty sweet filling up the wheels. Plus they'd remove all of the pad overhang associated with these setups.
Pretty happy with how the VHT black pearl came up too with 2K clear on top. HEL stainless lines also installed on the front, still have to do the rears.

The new engine is finally in. After an annoying 24hours trying to diagnose a wiring fault, it turned out I had switched the engine and gearbox brown plugs around. It never occured to me that this was actually possible since most plugs have different locating features etc. I had also re-jigged the engine plugs to make room for a turbo down pipe in future.

Engine is basically stock but with head studs, acl rod bearings, Tridon TT294-183 thermostat (84C open), HPC DFC1 coated (stock) pistons and now only 10.0:1 compression after we machined the piston crowns down a little. Have only put about 50km on it but can barely notice the difference in compressure so far. Maybe a tiny bit more 'dull' than it use to be but will wait until I can give it a solid pull past 4000rpm. Its so nice having an engine that doesnt rattle and tick on cold starts and the IAM has now sits at 1.000 instead of zero. I wonder how much the lower compression helps this or it just not being 190,000km old? I'll post some pics of the whatever I find in the old motor soon, expecting very worn tensioners and guides.

Future plans:
- STI ST3501021020 short shifter kit, this arrived 3 days late so didn't happen over the weekend.
- STI genome titanium strut brace when it arrives from Japan.
- Closed-deck trial parts on the CNC. Going to do some mini (think single cylinder) style parts as the first test, then full test on the spare block.
- 560cc blue injector install and tune to suit (hoping to do the tuning myself)
- 22648AA011 WRX fuel pump controller and upgraded pump wiring. Going to run all new wires from the battery to the pump to prevent any issues there with future pump installs.
- 22012AA210 wrx map sensor
- 22680380 MAF sensor - this may not really be needed for the 6-7psi boost I am thinking of running (98 fuel only) but will keep looking into it.
- GT3576 turbo.. If I do the above changes first at get it running smoothly then the turbo should run pretty safe. I did this approach on the old turbo ej251 at is still getting thrashed by the new owner.

Ohhh that was you trying to work out why you had all those codes thrown ?

Hate when you get so far then such a small little thing creates a hiccup.
Glad you got it sorted.

Still only hit around 250km on this motor but already noticing the IAM and learned values being very different from the last motor. I'll try to find an old LV shot but I don't think I've ever seen an ez30 without some timing corrections! The drop from 10.7 to 10:1 compression has certainly made a difference but not a massive drop in power either.
