Its a Perrin intercooler which I've applied a light coat of black on.
This is a picture of one that hasn't been painted on a US Legacy.

heres another pic with some of the fuel system parts infront of it.

Looks good, animal! It's going to be one killer stealth machine! And wow, clean garage too!

You just need it to fill the opening of the front bar, so it doesn't need to be extra large. But you need a reinforced bar at top so that the front mount has something to attach to. Perrin being the quality parts they are have the brace included. Excellent! :D

Haha. No thanks Mano. I still stick by my 'no visible CF on the car' rule. But it looks great! I'm sure there will be more people to follow.

wow I am loving the CF bonnet mate! Looks awsome, I wish it were legal in WA to have one. FMIC looks the biz as well. I am assuming you are running an after market turbo back set up and tune? Who tuned it for you and what sort of boost are running to get 200 kw atw? Was it done on a roller dyno or hub dyno ? Twin scroll turbo set up I note. I would love to see you dyno graph with that baby.

At the current stage the the turbo has been swapped to a Sti vf34 along with a modified uppipe that converts the twin scroll to single scroll. The intercooler and cold air box where replaced with a Hyperflow t/m and a MRT cold air intake. I'm using an Ecutek type 3 to control the whole show which was tuned by S & J Automotive. The exhaust is a full MRT system that runs from the turbo all the way to the mufflers and I also replaced the fuel pump to an Sti item. The car was tuned to 18psi but turned down to 16psi from 5000rpm onwards due to the injectors not flowing enough.
Since that dyno which by the way was done at the wheels not hubs I've changed the wheels which are a whole 1kg lighter in each corner aswell as a PPG 1-4 helical close ratio dog gears, a Grp N 5th gear, a DCCD centre diff and I've also changed the rear diff to a Sti spec C R180 along with custom made driveshaftshop axles from the US. The frt diff has had a PPG centre fitted and the clutch is now a Tilton twin plate with a light weight flywheel. All this probably sounds a little extreme but I'm in the process of building a 400kw @ the wheels motor which should be ready early next year.I've also got a direct port nos going on aswell just for good measure after all its got to live upto the name.lol

after hearing your car over a year ago george i can declare that there is nothing stealth about it if you have even a passing interest in cars
can't wait to see and hear the finished product on one of my trips to adelaide.

Wow... What you've got planned I think is far different to the rest of us. Good on you mate! :D She really looks the goods!

So is it ment to be a track weapon? Quater mile car?

Love that CF bonnet :D Do you have different restrictions in SA? I know here is Sydney you'd get defected in a heart beat for having a CF bonnet... :(

The car is being built mainly for quarter mile but I have taken it to Mallala Race Track already and that was a great feeling. I'll probably get semi slicks for my next outing though as the tyres got destroyed and didn't provide much grip after a few laps. Hopefully Adelaide gets a drag strip happening soon if not I'll have to probably take the car over to Melbourne once its finished. As for the bonet I'm not sure about the restrictions with the bonet as BMW M3's have c/f roofs and theyre production cars.
