I have also finished my fire extinguisher bracket.
I welded it together (not the best welds, but they are strong)



Grinded the welds flat and curved all the corners



A few coats of paint


I left it to dry overnight, then attached the extinguisher bracket with some M5 bolts and nylon locking nuts.


And finally installed it in the car, pretty happy with how it turned out to be honest, and the seat still has its full range of motion.


This morning I also decided that it was time to finally change my blown headlight bulb.
Bulb out, uh oh.


That's not just a new bulb fix.
Fortunately I had a light laying around which I scavenged the ballast from, it looked a bit water damaged though, so I wasn't sure if it would work.


The one in the car looked great which was a little annoying.



But, despite how iffy it looked, I put it in the car and it worked!


I also changed my driver's side brake light as that was out.

Yeah nar, both my igniters (sockets) went out at around 220klm. Same same: toasted.
I guess next time I’ll just crimp new ones to the old ballast with a few layers of heatshrink...

I wasn't expecting to have an update this soon, but something that I have been waiting for for ages has arrived.

It came with rears too, I just didn't get any photos of them.

I wasted absolutely no time in ripping out the old seats.

These seats don't have a side airbag, so I have done the 3.3ohm resistor mod


The new seats don't have a memory function (never used it anyway), which meant that the plugs are different.



Nothing some crimp connectors couldn't fix (still wanted to be able to unplug the seat if needed)


Now for some glamour shots.

Is the extinguisher required to be positioned like this for track events?

They're from a preFL (so they are tons more supportive than my old seats), and they came out of a JDM Legacy WR (world rally) limited.
I've had my eye on them for ages, but finally bit the bullet, and they look even better than I was hoping.

That's sick dude, I don't know of anyone else running them Aus, super cool. I love how with your build you're doing things a little differently to everyone else, just like with the brake set up! Great stuff as always.

Haha you say that, but I discovered after installing my seats that there is another guy in Aus running these seats... And the same Wedssport SA-15R as me. @_Allnighter on instagram, not sure if he's on here.
However I am trying to keep things a little different, but mainly I'm just going with what I like the look and feel of.

Recently while driving I have been getting smoke from the engine bay. I had a chance to have a bit of a look and saw this:

I figured it was most likely the rocker cover gaskets, but could also be the turbo/AVCS line. I ordered the rocker parts from partsouq and I also have fittings and hose to make a new oil feed line.

My rocker stuff arrived and I tackled it on the weekend.

I didn't take many photos, but the old gaskets were incredibly brittle

New bolts, because why not.

I put the new ones in and put RTV on the required sections and then put the rocker cover back on

When taking the cover off one of the breather lines was super perished and when taking it off it snapped.


Luckily I had plenty of hose laying around, so I've replaced that section. I also got rid of the awful spring clamps



Nothing hugely exciting, but it has fixed my oil leak.


I also had my fuel harness and air pump relay recalls done today. Then I got my car scrutineered for the Lufra hillclimb this Saturday. Be interesting to see how it goes.

Alright, a bit of an update.

Did the hillclimb, and it was great fun. Too fun in fact, I did quite poorly in terms of points due to consistently driving too quickly.
The car performed well throughout the day without any issues, and the suspension felt incredible.


In slightly more exciting news modwise, I bought a full rotated turbo setup.

It was a mostly straightforward install, just a few small things that were annoying.





I also installed my braided oil line at the same time


There were a few leaks to deal with when I first installed it, but they are now sorted.
The biggest problem at the moment is that it's quite loud... See below


I'm taking it in to have a piece made up on Monday, then I just need to sort a tune out. Hopefully I can have it all going well next week as on that Saturday is a dyno day and it would be great to see what it makes.

Are you keeping boost at a sensible limit, or sending it?

I'll be running a maximum of 14psi to start with, the previous owner of the turbo kit ran it at that and saw 220-230kw atw. That was also on a stock block.
I'll turn it up once a new engine is in.

STI forged crank
ARP 625 head studs
Some head work, unsure about cams at this point, and depends on sourcing a set of heads.

PSR silicon throttle body hose


Torque Solutions Turbo Blanket


And an AEM Wideband kit (to be fitted soon)


I also have a Perrin alternator cover to fit

It seems to have finally stopped leaking, and I'm slowly tuning it, but so far impressions are good
