I scored some door cards off a friend who was parting his car, as mine had damage from a previous owner letting their dog in the car, so I swapped them over.

The new ones aren't perfect either, but they are a lot better.

My redline goods centre console cover also arrived.

Coming together, and hopefully brakes aren't far away along with a couple of suspension mods including my long-overdue LCA bushings.

You can probably tell from previous photos that my ancillary hoses to/from my radiator were pretty stuffed. Nothing particularly wrong with them, but they looked super dodgy.
Image
Image
Image

I grabbed slightly too thin lines by mistake, but they fit and look a heap better than the old ones.
Image
Image

I also got around to fitting my front lip, a few scrapes, but it is holding up well so far.
Image

Again, more stuff to come soon!

You oem hoses should come up nicely with the right product, I used perl to great effect.

Nope, all stock, but I am running 225 tyres, so I'll have to wait and see about 235s, but I'm also on stock suspension. It does sit quite low though as I think my poor old Bilsteins are giving up.

And I'll look into that, would be nice to have the fitment of the OE hoses.

I've done a couple of little bits and pieces recently, but none of the big things yet.

I cleaned up the stock rad lines, just soaked them and gave them a good scrub.
Image
They look a whole lot better than before.
Image

I also fixed my lightbar wiring, it now has three settings, off, on, and auto-on with hi-beams.
Unfortunately it has since stopped working, and I suspect the fuse holder as it was a bit dodgy when I first got the car, so I have another one ready to put in.

Finally, my TapTurn arrived today.
Image
In under the steering wheel, on the right hand side, next to the fuse box is the relay. I found the easiest way to swap the module was to unclip the section using the little clips on the side.
Image
This lets you access the relay a lot more easily.
Image
Out with the old, in with the new.
Image
New installed.
Image
Clipped back in ready to go.
Image

It works really well and is easy to use, I will get some video soon, but just using it today has made me realise how much better LED indicators would be.

Again, more to come, just waiting for parts to arrive.

Quick video of the TapTurn

(doesn't seem to want to embed properly for some reason)

Also got around to fixing the fuse problem with the light bar, as well as swapping the fuse for the amp so that it's tucked out of the way more.

Did an oil change too, nothing too exciting, just boring maintenance stuff.

So I bought an Output Motorsports reverse lockout and installed it, absolutely love the feel of it, and the screw is a million times better than the oem pin system.
Image
After installing it I realised that the lower ring under the shift knob was pretty rough, with paint wearing off.
Image
I took it off and sprayed it flat black to match the reverse lockout (no pics though).

I also finally swapped in some parking lights that actually work.

And a couple of days ago some parts arrived, including a Corgiwerx short shifter.
Image
Image
The shift throw is much shorter and feels great, and the extension to the base of the shifter makes it fit the boot a lot better.
Image

I still have a black inlet to install, and there are more parts on the way, just waiting for customs/sellers/companies to finish doing their things (more engine bay bits, interior stuff, exterior bits, and brakes)

I got my new silicon inlet
Image
Time to get rid of the ugly red one!
Image

...
...
...
...

Many, many, hours later the new inlet was in.
Image

What I didn't realise is that while installing the new inlet I managed to snap one of the nipples off the expansion tank.
Image

Luckily I was able to source a second hand Mishimoto one and got it express shipped, it arrived this morning.
It isn't for a Liberty, so fitment was a bit off.
Image

Because of this I had to run pretty much all new coolant lines, but that wasn't a huge issue, and it gave me a chance to tidy the engine bay a little.
Image

I drilled out one of the holes in the tank mount so it could be mounted in the stock location with minimal issue. I also swapped the nipple on my Mishi rad so that the line is the same size as the nipple on the expansion tank.
I also put a hole in the intake surround to hold the catch-can.

Finally, all back together, looking great.
Image

Of course I had a boost leak, luckily it was only the cold side intercooler hose and was easily fixed.

Well rather annoyingly I believe I still have a boost leak somewhere.

I've been getting P0171 (system lean) every so often, and yesterday I got codes for misfires on cylinder 1 and 3. It also isn't boosting over 13psi and is idling like a cammed LS. So plenty of investigating to do, and hopefully I can find and sort out the problem.

Edit: I had a look after work, took the intercooler off and checked the lines, tightened up some of the hose clamps, added a clamp to the block end of the BOV reference hose, and re-routed the hose going to the catch can.

It's idling a lot better, and on a quick drive it was boosting properly, will have to see how it goes with the commute tomorrow, fingers crossed for no codes.

So I ordered some sequential led strips from ebay and they finally arrived.
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com.au%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F292899794064
I also had Monday free, so I had a chance to customise my headlights.
Image

First I put them in the oven at about 100°C for 5-10 minutes. Then I pulled them out and split them.
I did a test fit of the strips and cut where I needed and then masked them up for painting.
Image
I just used rustoleum flat black with half decent plastic adhesion. For the indicator lens covers I used nightshade to give the blacked out appearance without impacting light output too much.
Image
I used the double sided tape on the back of the strips to fasten them in place and then added a couple of thin wires as well to keep them from lifting.

Then I put the lights back together and sorted the wiring, and installed them in the car.
Image

I can't get this to embed properly (on mobile, might try later on my pc), but click the picture to see the indicator in action
Image

And a photo with the lights off

Hopefully getting back into the swing of mods. Waiting on parts again, but some things have arrived.
My HyperRev magazine's arrived from Japan
Image

And my Kobe Motorsports intake arrived
Image
I didn't think I would be able to install it today, but fortunately my loaner Tactrix also arrived.
Image

I got to work installing the Kobe, removing the spt intake that was installed.
Then I put the filter onto the heat shield.
Image
Installed the heat shield, then installed the rest of the intake and mounted my catch can.
Image
Image

The engine bay is a lot tidier looking now.
Image
A couple more covers and some hose tidying and I'll be happy with it.

I also re-flashed the ECU to account for the change in airflow, and I have changed a few other things in the tune. I've left it quite conservative for now, but once I get a wideband installed I'll be able to fine tune it a bit more.

I also picked up a damaged Varis front lip, it's to fit an 08 WRX, but it looks like I'll be able to make it work with the Lib.
Image
It's currently waiting on some resin to dry.

So as part of my tune I deleted the secondary air pump codes, as I have had a delete kit for months just waiting to be installed.

Yesterday I decided to do the delete.
I used this walkthrough
https://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/2007-2009-air-pump-delete-cel-codes-and-ecu-fix-140259.html?fbclid=IwAR1V9WlE4qjokjcCfTY-z2BIz7dWFCY5c6GjTPKzONRNIKoPPrunQILnNZA
"How hard can it be" I thought as I started at 9am...
Just two bolts to remove this giant eyesore
Image
Image

I removed the solenoid from the passenger side, no problem, slightly fiddly, but nothing too bad.
Then the problems began.

To undo the hard line and remove the driver's side solenoid I had to remove the turbo (fun times).
Image
Image

Once that was done I was able to install the deletes.
Image
Image

At this point it was about 4pm, but finally I had all of this junk removed
Image

I then reinstalled everything so I could move the car to shut the garage door for the night. But because I was in a rush I forgot the turbo heatshield, and I missed that I needed the sensor from the top of the driver's side solenoid.

This morning I cut off the sensor
Image

Plugged it in and cable-tied it out of the way (as well as reinstalling the heatshield)
Image

And finally engine back together ready to go, looking nicer without the pump in it.
