So long time reader, first time poster :D After failing my attempt at converting a 2001 Subaru Outback H6 with a B4 engine. I bit the bullet, sold it and bought this!

This is my 2005 Subaru Liberty 3.0R-B H6 Wagon

Have to say, I've driven a 2007 WRX STi, and I have more fun driving this torque queen than an STi :D Usuable power at the lower rev range! No replacement for displacement has gotten me.

With 216XXXkm on the clock, and my good friend applegeek having a 300XXX+km H6, it didn't phase me on the high milage, only if the service manual was filled out which it was. The body was decent and also looks as if its been garaged most of its life, no sunspots or fading!

The dash has seen better days, the steering wheel tattered and many holes in the gear stick boot. It hasn't had the airbag recall done yet so fingers crossed Subaru gives me a brand new dash :D

In terms of problems noticed, thanks to applegeek, he found this.

As you can see the top radiator hose is balloning after driving for a while and goes back to normal when cooled down (around 2 hours after driving). It looks like an aftermarket radiator by gopher (says on the radiator itself) and the hoses are defiantly not subaru, has a different brand name and made in Australia

What is your prognosis! Please let me know, this is my priority of the first thing to do!

More photos to come later :D

We've got good sized brakes in our 3.0R-B's, you can get the brakes pretty nice without having to go to expense of Brembo upgrade. WRX brakes are only an aesthetic upgrade.

Depending on budget:
a) machine your discs, new pads, flush/bleed brake system and you'll be mostly there
b) as before but add some HEL lines from StreetToTrack in Vendor forum - firms up the pedal feel
c) a+b, plus upgrade to new discs.
