I have a few exterior parts almost ready to go on, and another on the way from Japan, as well as a few suspension bits.
Until I fit all of that I have had a go at making a spoiler extension similar to the K2gear one.

First I made a mold out of cardboard and paper, but I don't have a photo of that step.

Next I fibreglassed a mold of the spoiler to ensure that it will fit correctly.




After that I put the cardboard template on and fibreglassed over the top.




This is as far as I have gotten so far, I need to tidy it up a bit and go over a couple of areas, but I did do a quick test fit and I'm pretty happy with it so far.

Thanks guys, the test fit definitely confirmed that I am going to finish it off properly. It has taken a fair bit of work so far, so no plans to make any more at this point.

I have also done a couple of suspension mods today, I bought a set of BC BR coilovers off a mate for $300, and my Whiteline rear LCA bushes/anti-lift kit (KCA 334) arrived, so I took advantage of some rare good weather to fit everything.

I started with the LCA bushes the old ones were well and truly stuffed.


It took ages to do the first one, the rings just didn't want to press out at all, but after about an hour and a half the replacement was finally in. The second one only took 10 minutes as we knew how to do it.


While I had each wheel off I took the opportunity to do the coils too, I knew the procedure from when I did my billies, so it wasn't too bad.


Not really, but after driving, I can see the similarities between the BCs and that.

Unfortunately I've been busy this week so I haven't had a chance to do any more work on the duckwing, hopefully I find some time this weekend.

In other news though a few parts have arrived from Japan, my spats being the first. I managed to pick up a set for a pretty good price in the right colour, the rears do need a touch-up though as the paint has come off in some places.


And my mid-spoiler has arrived, it will need painting, but based on the test-fit I am looking forward to getting it on the car.



The mid spoiler came with the whole garnish, which included a rear fog light, which I might have a go at wiring in if I decide I can be bothered. I can't find anyone else who has done it on here, but there is a walkthrough on LegacyGT which should work for the AUDM cars.

The spanners for my coils also arrived today, so I can get some more low soon. And I ordered a Fumoto drain plug yesterday, because why not.

The mid spoiler looks good man, I need to look into getting one for sure. It should go very well with the ducktail.

Alright, another update, nothing too exciting, I'm still waiting for some goodies to arrive.

Today I installed my rear fog light and a reversing camera.
As they both needed to go under the tailgate garnish and have wiring run from there to the dash it made sense to do them at the same time.

So after getting the garnish off I fitted the light and the camera (ignore how shit my garnish is, the mid-spoiler will soon fix that problem).




Next was the worst part, wiring...

Threading the RCA through this was a nightmare, and to top it all off it snapped off right as it was about to come all the way through...


This led to a bunch of other problems, mostly associated with the absolutely shit-house wiring that came with the camera.

Otherwise it was all pretty simple, I'm not happy with my switch for the fog at this point, but I'll find something better soon.


And the money shot, one working rear fog light.


Worthwhile mod?
Almost entirely pointless, there are about 10 days a year when I might use this, but JDM efame points are worth an afternoon of wiring.


And the reversing camera.


It's decent enough, I probably need to change the wiring a little so that it comes on when I put the car into reverse, that should just be a case of finding the reverse power input on the headunit and hooking it up. The lines are fixed which is rather annoying, but not much I can do about it.

Not a bad idea, I might even try and 3D print something.

And I have fixed the reverse camera, as bad as the wiring was in the camera kit, it did have a power wire running through the RCA meaning I just had to hook that up to the reverse lights.

I also got a new switch for the fog which fits a bit better, so it looks a bit nicer.

Okay, so today I thought I would do something simple, a quick oil change and install the Fumoto drain plug. Simple, right?
WRONG!

Not sure about other models, but on my car the F105 fouls the cross-member, so it can't be screwed in easily.



Cue the next half an hour of screwing around.

First, I undid the pitch-stop mount.



Then, used an engine hoist to lift the engine enough to fit the plug.



Finally, after too damn long, success.




So, just a heads up, these don't just bolt right up, they require a bit of extra work.



I''m tacking this onto the end of this post, because it's not really worth its own reply, but put my new wheel nuts on.


I'm not unhappy with how they look, and it might be better with the new wheels, but I saw this picture with the blue nuts and I think they look really good.

I might consider getting them powdercoated when I get the wheels done (not the current set).

Well, just a small update, something exciting has arrived



Now they are off being restored, then they will be powdercoated



Hopefully in the next week or two I'll have some nice shiny new rims, new rubber, new rotors and new pads.
