Had a quick look through the previous posts. Going to give you some advice to hopefully save you some time and effort.

1. Swap the OCVs from left to right, they're identical. Log again. If the problem (aka the lagging side) hasn't switched sides? The problem isn't in the OCVs. And obviously vice versa, if it has switched sides.

2. It could also be the cam sensors. Not usually the culprit, but might be worth considering. You're after the lagging side. Really annoying to get to without removing the manifold...but if you're good with your hands might take you 30-60mins to replace with a known working one and see if that changes the readings. Loosen the manifold bolts and get someone to lever the manifold up, while you scrape your knuckles trying to swap the sensor (it will just fit), or just remove the manifold altogether.

3. Finally - if the problem is the cam gear - cleaning the gear rarely works. Unless you want to risk doing the timing service twice, it's probably best to replace it with new the first time.

Haven't looked at the log but is it general ocv angle oscillation or inactivity?
If the latter, when and at what odo was the last timing belt change and or head work done?

Had a look: results somewhat inconclusive... we can see the rhs vvt angle can actuate, but mainly maxes out.

Log it again in a steady freeway cruise to see if it oscillates...
Oscillation is good: usually means a shagged OCV.

Another trick is to reset the ecu, then log the avcs system self calibration cycle, which happens either on the first or second key-on after reset, doing that may reveal clues to the issue.

At this point, doing an oil flush cant hurt, do it prior to the next oil change. There's a few approaches ranging from mild to wild, with a comprehensive seafoaming being somewhere in the middle. Link in my tune faq sig entry.

Another thing to consider is the cam sensors, maybe check the loom plug is seated, clean the contacts and or sensor itself.
Thing is they're fairly buried by iirc the inlet mani. Did you remove that for recent work? If so you may have a continuity issue with the plug. (long shot)

When and at what odo was the last timing belt change and or head work done?
I ask because if its due soon, its a good opportunity to get new cam gears (and ocv's) in there, assuming the issue goes deeper than just ocv's. There's also banjo filters to dig out of the heads and block where the oil pipes start and maybe end: can confirm this from the MY08 long block I recoed, they're in deep and didn't pop out till I used compressed air when removing machining swarf.

tl/dr?

Thank you guys for the ongoing support :D Much appreciated!

So firstly i monitored the sensors for a second time before doing anything.
It seems as though both Cams advance equally within the first 2 minutes of idle(1500 to 1800rpm)/driving. EDIT: Got a Log at idle(1700-1800rpm) https://drive.google.com/open?id=0By_yr ... FE4MVAwbk0
VVTANGLE (Small).JPG

Then the right hand side stops.... with the left functioning as desired. Then randomly BOTH sides stop working altogether.... LITERALLY ON 0! ....

After i saw this i immediately stopped, turned car off and then on again and guess what? BOTH sides function correctly for approx 2mins then the right stops working...

Then i did what was suggested, Swapped the OCV's Left to Right.

Cleaned the electrical connectors wile i was there.
Went for a drive, Exactly the same function. Both work for the first 2mins then the right stops then nothing...

Wile doing this log i could smell oil, pulled over right away found alot of oil had come out of the RH (Turbo side) Head breather and was dripping down the rocker cover...

As for removing the intake manifold to get to things underneath, I'm capable of doing this no worries. After doing the TGV delete i have the process down pat 8)
Head work/ timing belt... i can only guess the timing belt was done around 100-120k... I have service history up until 150k, from then on its my servicing every 5k and keeping a close eye on things. :)

It's really quite annoying having the car run smoothly but not really working as desired... and to top it off the log files i had from today are blank :angry2:

Next up will do Oil flush and see how things look then, this will be done in a few days though.
Thanks again for the help.

Alright so i had a quick think about this, I just reset the ECU and cycled the key twice times as Benny suggested and went for a drive:
This time Both VVT angles were equal at idle and cruising
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0By_yr ... zJkUGxpMXM - CRUISING LOG

Then you'll see in the log below that both sides become 0 after some time. It is at this time that i went through some quick left to rights and then accelerated quickly. After this both VVT angles remained at 0.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0By_yr ... 3RESDl2R1U

Next i pulled over and Turned OFF and then ON the engine, VVT angles returned to normal operation! @1700rpm VVT is 20 degree or so.
Then once again sure enough after a quick turn the right side stops functioning...

Very unlikely that both sensors would play up, seeing as they rarely play up on their own.

The cams are a lot more likely to move when the oil is cold - because more oil pressure to force through whatever resistance is there (blockage, OCV, or stuck cam gear). That's why usually you'll see normal behaviour during warm up, but faulty symptoms once oil is up to temp. If you notice the behaviour is linked to oil temp - the problem is physical, not electrical.

The fact that both sides are stopping would suggest that there's something affecting both of them at once - like you said - perhaps a blockage?

Or perhaps both cam gears are dirty/faulty. If they are "dirty" - may as well replace them, they are usually never the same again.

Another reason why both might be turning off - when one side is way out, the ECU will turn both off. Usually, but not always, accompanied by a CEL. So you'll need to figure out if one side is way out after an ECU reset and diagnose further from there. No point chasing faults on both sides, if it's just the ECU switching the non-faulty side off.

Iirc the log showed that the amps/duty cycle on the affected side remained high as if trying to actuate the ocv.
Try swapping the ocv's side to side to see if the issue follows suit. If it doesn't I'd suspect the cam gear or a blocked filter.
If the issue follows the swapped ocv, then replace it or both. And also eliminate the cam sensors if possible, eg remove, clean refit, check loom connections.

Yes BBB you are correct the Logs were showing that the Duty cycle and current remained high, as to indicate that the ECU was trying to activate the OCV's however the VVT CAM angles remained at 0... or at least were 0 once oil temps had risen...

Had some time the past few nights to pull the turbo off and investigate the right hand side as this is where the problems started.

Pulled the banjo bolts out of both ends of the RH oil hard lines and blew some air down from the OCV end. Then repeated down the turbo oil feed line, In my hope to maybe dislodge something as BBB had said he did. AAAANNND IT WORKED!!! There was a piece of Banjo bolt filter (black plastic piece) that flew out!

Next to piece it back together and log stuffs tonight 8)

Also the other day i found i had split the Front RH CV boot and was getting some pretty bad clunking on full lock turns...
Picked up some second hand front drive shafts to get that fixed quickly.

Nice :) might be some banjo filter stuck in the ocv's or if you're less lucky, the avcs mech in the cam gears.
Iirc company23 make a 5point security bit to remove the seal plate on the cam gear, not sure if this can be done with the gears installed so check all other avenues first, eg clean or replace the ocv's...
