It's about time I did this
A previous member, Ksperh, sparked my interest in this car. At the time he was going out with my cousin. I was driving a 2003 RS manual Impreza.
I didn't even know the H6 existed.
My usual theory in cars then, was to buy the biggest engine possible without having a turbo charger. Decent power, understated looks, and cheaper insurance.
I also needed a wagon for work and family duties.

The Post facelift H6 manual spec.B wagon was what I was looking for. It was June 2013.

When I finally had enough money, I did a lot of reading on these forums, and I started looking on carsales.

I didn't want to buy the first one I saw, but everytime I looked, I noticed that they never lasted long at all. There were times that there were 1 or 2 on carsales, and then they disappeared, and there was plenty of time when there were none.

I'm from the Blue Mountains NSW. There was one in Narellan NSW with a Sat Nav. Then it disappeared. There was others that were interstate, and I thought it was crazy to fly to see a car i knew little about, to part with my hard earned cash on the risk that all was ok. After time with none at all on carsales I knew this is what I must eventually do.
Then 1 more came up. One in Victoria.
After much procrastination, I said, If it's still there tomorrow, I'll call the guy about it.

At about 11pm that night, I said to myself "Just one more look to see if there's anything else"
Sure enough, there was. Location Blaxland NSW. I work in Blaxland, and thought "it's too good to be true"

It was now August 2013.
Pearl White Post Facelift H6 spec.B 6 speed manual wagon. MY08

I went to look at it the next morning, as it was basically around the corner from work, and took it for a drive.
Such smooth delivery of power, and all the other niceties that I wasn't used too.
Black Leather
Climate Control
Massive Sunroof

I drove it to my local mechanic for their opinion.
The stereo powered up, but there was no Audio to be heard at all. The owner had told me that it had been diagnosed as a faulty Mcintosh Amp by Subaru Penrith, and they had received a quote of around $1000 for a replacement.

Everything else checked out so I made an offer pending successful replacement of the faulty Mc amp.
So after a 2 month search, I had found it. As a bonus it happened to be in to be in the best colour available as well.

First mod was a Bury CC9068 bluetooth carkit.
http://www.bury.com/cms/en/products/kat ... 068-1.html

I managed to get a loom from Drivesafe.co.uk to suit the Macintosh setup.
Unfortunately, the loom has now been discontinued. I have been in contact with my supplier for specs on the loom, but haven't been able to get any info.

I liked this kit because it can do 2 bluetooth devices at once, and the controller seemed better than the Parrot MK9200 one.

Second mod was the obligatory Kido Tune :D
The first one was done in November 2013. An update was done around August 2015. I still haven't gone the Flex tune yet, as I know the car will be on 98 most of the time anyway. But I may be convinced once i experience it in someone elses car....

Anyway, the Kido tune in a H6 is a MAJOR improvement in what the factory offered in regards to drive-ability. Use-able torque from 1200rpm instead of the factory 3500rpm means driving around local suburban streets is a lot better.
Also an improvement in fuel economy was very welcome as well...

$2 fire extinguisher bracket

Using 2 of the bolts already in the seat frame, some flat bar, a hacksaw, a rivet tool, a drill, and a pair of pliers, I came up with this.
The extinguisher moves back and forth with the seat, negating the need for it to clear the electric motors under the passenger seat...
