Hi guys, been around these forums a while now and thought I'd share what I've done with my libs to date. Proud of my cars but nothing too outlandish to see here as I appreciate the look and feel of the car stockish and legal.

Wanted more information on the nav screen on the TBSTI than instant fuel economy and throttle position.

Instead of ripping out the sat nav and trying to install a tablet I will be buying one of these funky little android TV boxes.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/361367525267?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Best part is that it comes with AV rca outputs which will directly plug into the rear of the nav screen without a converter. Downside is that it will be view only, no touch. This will be ok as I can set BTSSM to automatically open when the device and is plugged into the car, always have a small wireless mouse to manipulate the screens if need be.

Also some usb inputs to plug in a KKL VAG COM cable for me to use with BTSSM. The plan is to have it plugged in and left all the time to view the info on the go in the car.

Already have the double din radio install for all my music and navigation etc so this is purely just for viewing data.

Plan is to hide the box in the centre console and the unit will be powered by the cigarette lighter socket so it will turn on and off with the car. If I really wanted to get funky I could hook up a battery as part of it's power supply, so I don't have to wait for the unit to boot up every start.

I'm probably borderline crazy about my liberties, have 1:43 scale models in the same gen and colour of ones I've owned - it's my shrine where I pray to the subaru gods for longevity

So after not driving the car for a very long time it seems like my 5th gear synchro is a little worn, normal driving is fine but will notice it when upshifting quickly from 4th to 5th above 4000rpm. It's still very driveable day to day and all other gears feel fine but still annoys the absolute crap out of me, even after a brand new clutch and fresh synthetic fluid was put in not long ago did not alleviate the problem I was not happy. :angry2:

I was getting quotes from all around and advised that drive in/out repair would cost almost the same as a 2nd hand gearbox, which aren't exactly easy to find either!

After some pushing, I'm taking the opportunity to fit in a low km 08 ADM STI DCCD 6 speed gearbox with front helical lsd (compared to the open one on the lib 6 speed) 3.54 final drive and 41/59 torque split, a MapDCCD controller to control the center diff and also replacing the stock torsen R180 3.54 rear diff with a clutch plated 3.54 unit and I'll cry about the cost later, should be fun.

Damn awesome! Where'd you find the ADM STi box?
Any reason for choosing the mapdccd?
The dual processor dccdpro requires some circuit wizardry to utilise the abs sensor info but this can be added later, works fine w/o as well, see Housemusiks build on Ozfoz...

It was all Owen's idea unfortunately  Sunspares in QLD had one, I must have rang a dozen places with everyone saying no, no, nope, nada. Then sunspares had an sti box for not much more than what a lib one would cost.

Rising sun subaru also had one plated lsd so George just lucky I guess :o

Was originally looking at the DCCDpro, but to quote a thread off nasioc "it looks like a 90s radioshack product" the stock buttons it comes with look terrible, not to mention the oem sti controls cost $200aud for the thumbwheel and man/auto controller.

The MAPDCCD just looks like a more rounded professional product with a nice ui and customisation. The MapDCCD box doesn't look any bigger than say a trailer brake adjuster either and has a nice little leds for center diff lock since there is none on our dash.

I'm extremely happy with the way the car drives now, along with the replacement box, diff, new clutch, brakes, suspension and turbo everything feels tight and responsive without compromising comfort or driveability. Anything harsher I think it will begin to change the car into something else that may not be as enjoyable to drive around everyday.

Pic of the DCCD controller mounted in the car, was made to fit in the ashtray and all working well! Roundabouts are now a new sensation

Let's put it this way, after doing the box and all the recent upgrades, my engine rebuild savings must start again. It is the last big ticket item that I have not replaced yet.... and hopefully will not have to anytime soon!

When the time comes I've got some options, either follow a tried and true engine replacement formula ala owen's car or something slightly more overkill?

Budget and time will decide, until then I'm enjoying hell out of the VF52 on the stock motor, as piddly as some people think it may be it's a very nice street combination and as far as I'm willing to push it for now :D

Fair enough. When it comes to the point to replace my driveline I wanna do it right. So I was just curious :)
