Right on to the next step time to mount the oil cooler and reservoir.

Image

So with the bumper off its clear the cooler will fit below the bumper bar however with the pipe connectors on we need to make a few mods.

Image

We cut a slot in the base of the bar so that the connectors and pipe work can run through the bumper.

Image

Image

Image

So with that all fitted up time to find a place for the reservoir and filter. The only place we could find is below the headlight which will make future servicing a bumper off job.

Image

Image

So all in all a successful days work even managed to find the time to fit the Recaro front seats Iv'e had around for a while.

Image

Just need to get the mounting bracket cut.

Hmmm.. Interesting. May have to start looking for a set if those. Always wanted some better seats but didn't really want to give up on the luxury features the current ones come with.

Main difference is there is no electrical back and forth on the Audi, it's manual but the Audi does have electrical lumbar support.

Spoke to the company that supplied the sc, just to run past them our install. Got the thumbs up so upwards and onwards. :D

Just a quick pic to show how well the oil cooler fits the central opening of the bumper.

Like the idea of some bonnet struts. Been meaning to get some for awhile, how much did they set you back?

Re: UK Spec B with Supercharger

Postby Spec BSC » Mon Sep 05, 2016 6:17 am

So last Sunday, the trailer was all loaded in readiness for our camping trip to Croyde, North Devon in search of some sun and surf. Before packing the car I decided to pop out and fill the car with V-Power.

The run out was only 3 miles. Whilst paying for the petrol i noticed a small lake forming under the car. NOT GOOD
Popped the bonnet and sure enough water seemed to be escaping from somewhere around the bottom hose. Waited long enough to remove the cap and put some more water in. Drive very very gingerly home and for the first time ever the temp gauge moved of its half way position up to a max of 3/4.

Waited for everything to cool down again and added about 2 liters of water, most of which promptly came out the front of the rad all over the fog light.

There was no way this was going to get fixed in the time left before leaving at 4.00am Bank holiday Monday.

Whilst this was all very annoying it was also very handy that the rad had let go now rather than at some point during our hols. Or even worse still if it had gone a couple of weeks earlier whilst we were in France. So some clouds do have a silver lining.

Need to get the rad out for a proper look but its most likely I'm gonna need a new one.

Ummm upgrade options????????
