Larger maf housing with 83mm ID

I am also going to have to change the BOV to a type that is attached by a silicone hose, as there is simply not enough room to accommodate the existing bolt on BOV.
The first engine died after eating to much CAT
The second engine died of a broken piston
The third engine is in the car
The fourth engine is in the machine shop

So far: Rotrex Supercharger (16 psi) FMIC,DW300c fuel pump, ID1050 injectors
Producing 431bhp and 350 lb/ft torque on the Rotrex SC not finished yet
Raptor headers, 75mm Milltek exhaust with Quad tips,
Custom made 4032 forged pistons by JE Pistons, forged conrods, Exedy Clutch
K sport 8 pot front, 4 pot rears all on 330mm discs, Hel brake lines
Meister R coil overs, Whiteline 21mm rear ARB, Perrin end links and strengthening brackets
Complete Whiteline kit for the front suspension including steering rack
One off Carbon effect Front grill, Carbon lip spoiler, Exterior De-chromed, LED interior light conversion.
Recaro Leather front seats with all functionality.
Waist spoiler, Smoked rear lights,, LED sill plates, LED sidelights
Prodrive PFF7's 18x8, in Bronze shod with 235/40/18 Goodyears.

Does the maf body incorporate an air straightener?
If not they're easy enough to add if required... eg alloy honeycomb etc :)

No there isn't one fitted, do they make much of a difference?

It's about getting consistent results from the sensor, they like a straight shot of non-turbulent air afaik...
I guess if you're not getting the results you seek, look at issues related to big bore Cai's.

So the new BOV turned up today, this is the one recommended by the SC supplier, its by Forge Motorsport and has 40mm inlet and outlet!!!!

If you look at the pic above, what will be done is to put the new maf housing and Bov in a straight line between the sc and before the 45 degree bend, then fuel pump and stand alone IAT then back to the rolling road for the final numbers. :D

Finally got my wheels refurbed with new 235/40/18 tyres. Very happy how they turned out.

So a semi successful day yesterday trying to sort out the final few things before the next mapping session.

So we installed the new IAT sensor into the charge cooler at the point we thought it would see most air flow.

Then we set about changing the inlet tract from this.

The main purpose here was to put the maf in a larger dia tube to help with better scaling and also to put in an area of reduced turbulence. We did try starting the car with the new set up but it was to much of a change for the map to work with. So now I will drive to the mapping session with the old set up then install the new one and get her mapped.

Oh and some complete arse ordered the wrong type of fuel pump for the Legacy so I need to get that swapped and then install the correct version.

The stand alone IAT sensor worked a treat on the way home with temperature ranging between 27 and 36c depending on traffic and driving style, so happier now I know the ECU is using the correct temp to calc the mass air flow.
