Not sure about upgrades. Thought Mishimoto do one but checking now I can only find one for H4s..?

Mishimoto don't do one for a H6. Apparently it is fairly easy to have one modded to suit a H6 though

So a few things have been happening.

The other day went for a drive came home and then needed to go out again but the car failed to start. Plenty of clicking noises from the starter motor but no action. Figured maybe the battery had given up so tried it with a jump pack, same result.

Removed the starter motor and tried it on the bench, worked fine, weird. Put it back in the car, no change still plenty of clicking and no action. Having had a seized engine before I decided to try turning the engine on the crank pulley just to make sure. What a relief when it turned easily.

Starting to run out of ideas so I phoned a mate for ideas, decided to put a volt meter across the main terminal of the starter to make sure we were getting a 12v feed, meter showed 3.6v. Upon closer inspection this is what I found.

Image

The rubber cap was hiding the fact that the cable was starting to shear and then broke when i pulled the cap back.

As I don't own any tools strong enough to crimp a new terminal on I managed to source a replacement cable really cheap.

Image

I have finally got round to having the new mounting bracket water jet cut.

Image

So now just a little more work on the bracket before its first trial fit.

Thanks for the update.

That cable is a strange issue, metal fatigue?

So took Friday off to try and push things on.

Had a few more mods made to the bracket so time try the first trial fit.

Image

Success !!!! 8)

Then set about working out the belt run and where to put the pulley's and came up with the following set up.

Image

Then set about measuring what size belt I'm going to need and making a list of all the other small items needed to complete the install.

One issue is that the plug for the oil control valve that operates the AVCS is in the way. So went about modifying a spare by cutting back the plug housing and then making a couple of short leads that will connect back to the OEM loom via a superseal connector.

Image

So the last remaining obstacle will be ducting air into the supercharger, there's probably not enough space to use a silicone hose and I'm concerned that it may collapse under the vacuum at high compressor speeds. Will probably have to fab an ali duct.

Got all the parts arriving this week! So yes it will just be the inlet pipe to sort. Then fingers crossed that it will deliver the goods and push the motor to cĺose to 500bhp at the flywheel.

Great work!!!
Will the final version of the mount require extra bracing, eg a lateral web, to prevent flex?

There is currently a support halfway between the sc and the engine. Both of the sc's are similar in wait, not had any problems with the Raptor set up, but will keep an open mind and keep a close eye on it over the early stages.

Appreciate the thought.

All the bits are finally together, just need to find the time to do another build up to check everything and then just maybe off we go!!!!!!!!

Will the SC deliver, will we get a 500 bhp plus engine, fingers crossed.

Rotrex certainly seem to be at the top of the game, I had to peep their electrically assisted SC...
How does the drive gear mechanism on yours work? Similar to a cvt or is it fixed gears inside?

From my understanding, there are 2 drive plates close together immersed in traction fluid. As the input plate spins the fluid becomes more viscous and so the output plate turns, the faster the input plate turns the more viscous the fluid becomes and the more traction is imparted to the output.

Mine is setup to deliver 16 psi at approximately 7000tpm which needs an impeller speed of 75000 rpm.
