I think if you had all 4 or 5 wheels off at the same time, you could probably do them over a weekend.
The only bit that really takes time is the initial sanding. If you have them all together then you could prime and paint them all at the same time.
I am going to let this wheel cure for a few days before I get the tyre refitted.

That's a good idea. Under intense heat would probably do the job.

The finished first wheel fitted to the car. You can see how much darker than stock it really is
Still deciding if I am going to spray the center caps or leave them silver

Just need to clean the tyre now

I say leave them silver.

For the sake of photo's can you add some tyre blackener to the tyre? It will make the wheel color pop out nicer I reckon.

My vote is to paint the Centre caps... looks a bit funny otherwise.

+1 looks like you forgot to paint them if you leave them silver imo

Yea I'm tending towards painting them too. Just going to lose that machined look with the stamped logo.

Time to start the second wheel
This one is probably the worst one. The reason I decided to do this in the first place. It looks terrible. There is some light curbing on this one, but the paint job is the real problem. There is about half of the clearcoat peeled off and bits of the paint are peeling. I can probably rant on about how much I hate this wheel :angry2:

So it sounds like your going to have to spend more time on this wheel then?

I completed the sanding last night, I will update the pics this afternoon. It was a bit harder to sand because this one is clear coated. That stuff is like trying to sand a rock. Luckily about half way through I found out that I could simple peel off the clear coat with a Stanley blade. I have now also successfully sanded through my skin on 2 fingers. It's hard work this.
I'll have this wheel painted up over the weekend and will at least have one side of the car with the same colour wheels.

Finally got the second wheel done. It's been 2 weeks of delays while I did some maintenance on my house, so this had to take the back seat for a bit.
The results as before are outstanding when you consider what this wheel looked like to begin with.
I did things a little differently this time though. The sanding was much the same as the first wheel, except that this one had a thick, rock hard coat of clearcoat. I found that peeling it off with a Stanley blade was the best way to get it off.
I then sanded down the bit of curbing that the wheel had. So that there just tiny little scratches left. The primer should take care of the rest
Image

Again many layers of paint on this wheel. I found that the last layer of paint under the clearcoat was rubbish, which is why the whole thing was peeling. I made sure that I got it all off
Image

I got a bit more heavy handed with the primer this time to try and get a smoother initial finish. It seems to have worked and the little scratches have been filled in nicely
Image

All primed up. If you are getting the tyre off it is worth making sure you get the primer wrapping around the edge properly. It makes for a nice finish after sanding
Image

I found these corners quite difficult to sand and I had to go back and re-do them a few times to get them nice and smooth. I ended up reshaping the end of a screwdriver and wrapped it in sandpaper to try and get the right shape.
Image

The completed wheel is again a thing of beauty
Image

I'm happy to get back onto my Eagle F1 in this corner. The spare wheel is a horrendous Neuton NT5000. It seems to grip OK, but the road noise and ride quality is not good
