If you have your tune, shocks and tunes sorted, youre pretty much done.
For the street, the rest is mostly bling IME :)

Yeah definitely. With uni starting up again, I'll have to be putting a lot of the bling stuff on hold for a while anyway.

I was also thinking of joining my uni's CAMS club and get some track time, but I think I'll leave that til later as well.

For now, I'm just going to enjoy the car, as i impatiently wait for the tune. :D

Well, went and got my car tinted by Rob at Cartint, and i must say, I am very impressed with his work and quality. :D \

The special reflective film he put on the sunroof is fantastic, and same with front side windows. It's so much cooler in the cabin now, yet letting sufficient light in to brighten up the place.

The quality is testament to the time and effort he puts into each individual job; pulling off the trim and even drawing up new templates for each car. Top bloke overall; I highly recommend him!

During the drive to cartint, I was passing some construction work, hit a pothole (or something) and heard a loud crack. Pulled over, had a look. It turns out the plastic bolt (and it's surrounding plastic) that holds the front bumper onto the chassis had sheared off the bumper itself. It's pretty clear the bumper has had at least a few accidents before, so i was kind of expecting to be honest; mismatched paint, elongated fitment, broken hooks, etc.

Bumper said "fuck this shit" and broke off. :(

Some minor updates.

Well, my power steering always had this hair raising screech and shudder whenever you get even remotely close to full lock. Decided I've had enough and went out to try and fix it. Did some research, and found that the O-ring was probably the most common issue. Went down to Glenny Subie and got myself a red rubber band for $4.15.

O-ring (of death)

Stealerships indeed. Lo and behold, it works. Also did a partial flush of the PS fluid; got rid of 90% of the black reddish gunk and replaced it with just-as-rank-smelling fluid. The power steering is super smooth now and feels a lot more precise and reactive.

Recently, I've been scraping when i normally wouldn't with the lib. Checked out the front bumper again, and it was drooping significantly, not surprising with the bolt gone. Also possibly because of the shocks settling in lower maybe, but i doubt it.

Anyway, took off my bumper again to see if i could straighten it out a bit. And found the headlight bracket and bumper brackets had snapped off from the previous owner, adding to the lack of support for the bumper.

Went down to the top blokes at Mordy Auto Salvage and got myself a new headlight bracket (57707AG040) fuss free for $22. Not bad tbh. The guys there mentioned that the bumper brackets tended to be broken whenever they get their wrecked libs and recommended i get them new. So off to Partsouq [dot] com and ordered them (57707AG100) in for $28. Not bad as well.

So yeah, came back home and fitted the new headlight bracket on. Also taught myself how to jack the car up. :P To most of you guys, i guess it's as trivial as trivial can be, but for me, i was cringing everytime i heard the chassis squeak as i jacked it up on its sides.

Also noticed this printed in my foam bumper thing. Does it say 'GTB' on every Spec B front, or does my car have a turbo that i just didn't know about? :P If anything, I'd say the previous owner bought it from a wrecking car and replaced a dead one.

GTB yooo

So yeah, even with the shoddy brackets, i managed to take a beautiful shot on a sunny day. No-filter phone camera game is strong.

The lib hides its flaws well eh?

Got the car tuned by Matt (KidoTune) today. Constantly grinning from ear to ear whenever i drive. :D
The torque, the linear response. Hell, fuel economy is significantly better as well. 8)

And just in time for the cruise too!

The Kidotune is an assault on my demerit points!

Think I've developed a severe liking for flooring it.
