I wouldnt put 215's on anything more than a 7.5" rim. 225's minimum on 8's and 235's on 8.5".

Ive found a set of 18 x 7.5 +48 ADVAN RS for sub $650. Need paint and no centre caps.

I actually just picked up a set of Advan RS's 18x8 +45

Same colour as the ones listed above + with centre caps. Sitting in my lounge room at the moment, just waiting on lug nuts before chucking them on. If you want some pics or anything let me know

Also those pics are so nice Mark, especially with those painted calipers.
I'm thinking of painting mine black or silver, don't want to go with a bright colour since I just have stock spec B calipers.

Don't forget to factor in the IM shipping fees, i calculated it for myself and the cheapest option would cost approx 1300 aud

Estimated shipping and charges brings the cheaper set to $1150 on my screen.
$500-600 for a refurb and respray makes a mint custom set of RS for $1700 rather than 2500

You "could" fit them onto an 8". Not ideal but not like they will be super stretched or anything. I ran 215/45/18 on an 8.5" briefly and they were ok.

Found as in found, I dont have them, thinking about it or can point anyone in their direction to acquire.

Yeah I might just pick up a set of 225/40 Goodyear Eagle F1 Asym 2s if I end up getting the 8' rim otherwise I 'll just go with the 7.5s.

Yeah great idea, I emailed him for a quote on a set of RS IIs as well as a set of Work XT7s

Just got a quote on both sets of wheels from Jesse and the RS IIs are $1000 more expensive than the XT7s...

So a set of advans, on top of the rear sway bar upgrade, window tint, and potentially aftermarket mufflers (Help needed: viewtopic.php?f=55&t=27405) - all on a student budget 'sigh'

Ah well, I guess we all know our love for cars isn't a cheap one!

hey buddy, what are the part numbers for the pink springs you got? i also have an my06 spec b and I am keen for an upgrade. How do they compare day to day to the stock set up?

The part numbers are on the boxes above, recommended by the guys over at IM and many legacy gt forums.
Opinions differ on this (check my reply in a recent thread on this in the suspension section) but basically the spring rates are the same on all variants so the only thing that differs is length to attribute for different weight (wagon vs sedan etc.)
I found these p#s give a nice even stance and the ride is definitely stiffer but bearable and with the lower centre of gravity it handles more direct with less body roll.

Quick Update

While I'm bored and still stuck on my physio treatment thought I'd provide a small update.
A couple of weeks ago I ordered via Import Monster this set of HKS ES Premium Ti Limited mufflers that were for sale off the Autobacs demo car in Japan.



These mufflers were at a great price and are very hard to track down since they were only a limited production run.
Very happy with the purchase, from what I've understood from research they give a nice and moderate rumble on idle and open up the engine note nicely under WOT without being stupidly loud or obnoxious.
And although it's not to everyone's tastes I very much like the look of these mufflers, certainly better than the dented and scuffed stock mufflers they are replacing.
I may upgrade the whole exhaust system at a later date but leaving everything stock for now.

Once I'm given the all clear to work and drive again my next mod will be finally getting the window tint done with Rob over at Ringwood, then rear sway/mounts and new Advan RS II rims in the near future.
