Put my brembos on a while ago, overall happy with how they came up. Although they won't bloody stop squeeling! The front pads are making a terrible noise at low speed. They're the intima sr pads and they didn't come with and shims (assuming they're supposed to). Is it as simple as tracking down some shims or should I buy a different compound pad?

Anyway here's how they look.

I'm not normally a fan of Silver brakes but with that wheel combo they look amazing man!

Took the lib for a spin today and got some happy snaps. I'll be honest, I've got no real clue with taking photos. Here's how some turned out. unedited as I've got no clue how to do that either.

Also can someone help with attaching photo's, they come out huge and cut in half when I paste the Photobucket IMG.

Fitted my battery and ABS covers today. Awesome fit and tidy up the bay pretty well IMO. I hate the blue silicon intake and I think I'm going to either buy/swap for some black ones.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get them from and for how much? Can't find them anywhere.

They are genuine Subaru Parts used on high-end Japanese models. So either go to the dealer with the Part Numbers below, or somewhere like Garage 88 in Sydney who sell the genuine items much cheaper.

After being off the road for about a year and a half, my car is finally back on the road. It got parked up with the intention of pulling the engine and replacing some seals and cleaning it up a bit. During the process I somehow managed to ruin the clutch slave cylinder, it just stopped building pressure and bypassing. I replaced it and continued with putting it back together.

Once it was back in and ready for its first run around the block, in all my excitement I forgot the fill the power steering fluid up and cooked the pump :angry2: further setting things back.

After getting the car back to a drivable state, it passed its blue slip with flying colours.

I soon realized that after driving it for a bit my catch can hoses had completely perished over the time. The catch can came off and I set out to get some braided hoses to replace them. With the catch can out I figured I would have a crack at building an intake as I didnt like the blue one that was in it originally.

The intake is made out of 3" stainless tube, it's not quiet finished just yet, I'm waiting on a silicone reducer. Once I get the final length I'll drill the holes for the respective fittings and paint it black.

With the new intake I also had to trim the bov return hose, modify the air box and move the boost control solenoid out of the way.

I will get some more shots once it's closer to being complete.

Also, I've been checking the for sale threads over the last few weeks and I seems really dead compared to what it used to be? Is the forum dying out?

Meh the “action” is on FB, but personally, its a Sunday only thing for me, and pretty irritating regardless.

Lots of shit posting, goldfish wondering posts, and idiots asking for explanations of things that are covered in the factory service manual.

The same questions, over and over again, when all the info is just a search away. :P

Keep up the good work, looking forward to pics of the finished product :)

Photos? Easier on a laptop, but if mobile, I make a screenshot and attach that, like this:

Helps if the image is less than full screen when taking screenshot, then crop in “edit”...

Anyway great work with the TIG, what’s your setup?
Going to purge the final welds?
I’d love to fabricate a staino inlet pipe all the way to the turbo inlet :P

That's a shame, I'm one of the "odd" ones who doesn't use Facebook

I only have a basic dc tig. I didnt have access to any purge equipment so I had to make do with a home made job. Surprisingly worked well. I am by no means a good tig welder, hence why the pipe will go black.

Thankyou for explaining the photos too! The next time I upload some I'll use the computer.

Me too lol, a tiny 125 vrd, just gotta save up for a D size argon bottle and a floating ball thing and tee for the purge.
Apparently (YouTube vids) Kapton tape from a computer shoppe is the thing to seal and weld right over the joins.

This is the other way to upload images, hit the “img” button in the reply window, paste the image URL between the inner brackets.
Alas this forum doesn’t automatically resize linked images, but your image host may provide resized links, flicker does for eg.

Using the upload attachment option discussed previously, it’s really low res, 256kb, so if the screenshot is still too big, rotate the phone, make another screenshot and crop the smaller image and attach that...
