I thought I might update this, I got my p's today and celebrated by going for a drive up Mt Alexander with one of my mates who has a vx Commodore, left him well behind in the twisties and it was a great drive. I'm loving the independence and I have fallen in love with this car all over again

BigBCalais wrote:No such tool,it would have to be only about 1-2mm in thickness to get into the hole though and be very long. The spanner goes about half way down the nut so you can't even get it to the thread. The lock nuts obviously have a tool which goes in the end of the spanner and you can get them on to about half way down the thread before it fouls on the wheel
GONEWALKABOUT wrote:do mean ratchet? surprised you can remove the lock nuts at all with a spanner!
yeah the tool i have came with the nuts its pretty much what you described for the lock nuts. but id say they were only 2 mm at most thickness. But obviously not

Nah a wheel spanner, just presumed it was obvious haha. Upon further investigation the lock nut tool is only a couple of millimeters thick but the nuts are 21mm which leaves no room for the wheel spanner to go over them in the hole (stock are 19mm)
