Hi everyone my name is Taylor
I recently purchased a 2007 Liberty GT-B Wagon as my old car was a total loss after it got hit by an out of control car
Insurance paid me out and I was looking at getting a Forester XT as I needed the boot space for work but turned out my friends dad was selling his Liberty Wagon so I went and had a look and ended up buying it.
Here it is (iphone pic):

And here is my old Impreza:

I am fairly happy with my new Liberty except for a few things:
- Stock tune is quite average - car seems to hesitate when on boost during gear changes
- Brake rotors are warped and the brake shudder is scary at times
- The Bilstein suspension is horrid, very noisy and the rear shocks are very sloppy
- The auto transmission is frustrating at times and is in need of a service (wish i bought a manual
)
-
The brake assist gives me the shits! Anyone know how to de activate it?...if possible?- The drivers seat is broken - one of the corners sinks down when you sit in it
- The worn front window guiding pads have put nice lines in my window tint
- The CD's are stuck in the cd player
- And there are a few rattles that I need to attend to!
Having said all of that I think the Liberty Wagon is a great balance between practicality, performance and style. Coming from an Impreza I really appreciate the extra luxuries in the Liberty I just wish it handled better and was a bit more exciting to drive and that's why I plan on doing the following mods:
Engine:- SPT air intake with heat shield
- Perrin turbo inlet hose
- Perrin top mount intercooler
- Perrin dual port BOV
- XForce turbo back exhaust
- Fuel pump (if recommended)
- 3 Port boost solenoid
- Tune
Brakes & Handling:- DBA slotted brake rotors
- Hawk brake pads
- HSD coilovers
- Rear adjustable sway bar
- Anti lift kit
- Upgrade wheels & tyres
- Corner balance & wheel alignment
Cosmetics:- 2008 front grill
- Front lip
- LED parkers
- LED interior lights
I look forward to meeting you all at cruises and meets and endeavour to keep this thread updated with my progress.
Cheers Taylor
