I really want my ride quality back.

After this I really question the research that the manufacturers do with some after market springs. I can see the benefit of the really firm ride if you are going on a track, but it just seems pointless and painful on the street.

Well said. Although some people are prepared to pay $$$ for the looks and improved handling over comfort. Coil springs can offer this at an affordable price point without spending big coin on suspension they rarely get to push to their limits.

After going down this route again at my own mistake, I have come to think for not much more than what I have spent already I should have just opted for BCBR/Kido/HSD coilovers.

After going down this route again at my own mistake, I have come to think for not much more than what I have spent already I should have just opted for BCBR/Kido/HSD coilovers.

What are the rules around coilovers in Aus? Here in NZ if you have any adjustable suspension fitted, it needs to be set at the height you want it and then you have to have it certified by a low volume certifier. It adds another $500 to the price of getting them and also means that you cannot change the ride height unless you have go and have them re-certified at the new height ($500 again)
So getting coilovers is the really expensive option here.
I actually bought a used set of Ohlins coilovers at one point, but never actually fitted them due to the certification cost.

Yes, certification is a must here in SA. Mainly due to insurance reasons. in other words, if you want to be covered, get the coil overs certified. But a lot of guys here don't and tend to run the risk. I dont know of anyone who will certify for $500. Engineers here are a rip off. Cheapest I have heard is $1500 in SA. I'd love to know who would legitimately certify coil overs for cheaper than that.

Here is a quick shot of the new stance.
Stock suspension with a 25mm drop on the font to even out the saggy butt syndrome. Pretty much even and handles like stock.
Ill get a better picture when I have the the centre caps back on the wheels

Now with painted centre caps.
I think I should dig the DSLR out and go do some "glamour" shots

I'll have the last of the wheels done this week. Just the clearcoat to go and then it's done...FINALLY!!
I have not had the time yet to get the Cusco RSB installed yet. The evenings are cold now and the weekends are very busy with having just had twins arrive.
Also in the process of trying to convince the wife to let me get a Jim Berry clutch sent over here. It needs to be done, but justifying the extra $600 for JB clutch is proving a bit difficult.

LOL. It's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission. haha

But I can see your dilemma with twins now. Every dollar counts.

So in the end it looks like I am just going to have to go with a Clutch Industries replacement. I can pick one up for around $400 and the guys I have spoken to about them are all happy with them. Sorry Jim, I really did want to get a good JB clutch but it just ain't gonna happen

On the other hand I am really happy now that my wheels are all done and that I have the ride height sorted out. The car is looking pretty good. It just needs a bit of wash.
Also got a set of Ultrex mufflers arriving which will give it a bit of growl.
I still have some of the wheel paint left so I think I might spray over the chrome bits in the grill too and colour match that to the wheels. Should look OK.

Looks spot on now Nikolai. Sometime with parts, you just have to get what you can for now.

It's actually amazing how a few small changes can make you feel about your car. I find myself looking back at the car when I walk away.
