Thought it was time for a bit of an update, there hasn't been anything I've really done yet....

I did however get a K&N Typhoon intake (I know A LOT of you people disagree with this decision but it's my build and I'll do it the way I like, so please leave your negative comments in the corner along with all the f$#s I give  )
Also as you can see a Zerosports radiator panel (Just for show, not expecting it to actually do anything

Also went to the Manfield track here in NZ the other day and got my new personal best, 1:25.86 (give or take an amount for human error) which is pretty decent for a daily drive if I do say so myself :P

However I think I went a bit hard on the brakes.... Kinda cooked them

Colour they used to be

Colour they are now

Apart from that no updates. Have ordered a few more nice parts that're on their way.... Just got to wait for them to turn up now

Anddd a few pics because why not?

I could be wrong, but those rotors look like they have hot spots on them. Not a good thing if they do.

Unfortunately the front rotors are screwed, I've got some Endless MX72 pads on the way so once they arrive I'll be getting front and rear rotors machined, the new pads and new motul RBF600 in there!

Nope you're right! Rears (Top pic) are slotted and fronts (bottom pic) are solid. I personally would have gone slotted all round but these are just what I got with the whole kit so I'll upgrade to slotted front's once they wear enough.

I haven't to be honest! There's no-one here I know of that can tune the JDM ECU's (unless I got to Auckland which is 8 hours away) which sucks! There will be a fair few more engine mods so I'm just going to get one full tune once everythings done.

I hope the hot spots can be machined out.

Get an e-tune done then. Just started one with cryotune a few days ago, so should have some results in about a month.
Also doesn't Raijin on CS do e-tuning as well? Get the feeling he requires an aftermarket wideband for logging though if you don't already have one.

Torqued performance should have a tune sorted in a few days, maybe a week depending how many logs you need ro take. Great customer support :)

That's always been a option. I don't quite know how I'd feel not having someone I can actually go to if things go wrong but I'll give them an email and have a chat

If you have a laptop and a tactrix, incremental tune touchups are a good thing.
Also for regular Learning Views as the car settles in.

Just sayin cos plenty blow up their car with just an intake and no tune :)

I've always wondered about that.... How exactly does one "Blow up" their car with just an intake?

Bigger intake = more air past at same maf voltage = lean = knock......

Get some learning views done asap!!
CURRENT - ATP GTX 3576 - 22psi - 283.7awkw
OLD - Dom 1.5Xtr - Last dyno 254ahkw, previous 238ahkw, first 224awkw.

How exactly does it give the same voltage? That's what the Maf's there for, to measure how much air's going in so the ECU can compensate.

I've got 3 brothers, each of them have had roughly 6 cars each (including me) and every single car has had a after market intake of some kind while none of them have had a tune. Guess how many have blown up? 0.

How exactly is everyone diagnosing that it's the intakes fault for the engine to give up and not a different cause?

How does, do you think, the maf work?

By cooling down the wire inside? More airflow means a cooler wire giving a different voltage to the ECU?
