viewtopic.php?f=7&t=24732

Finally took delivery of the new girl, got the Sti quickshifter & strut brace in.

Just wanting to get your thoughts on a few things. Did some searching, looking for exhaust & intake ideas - prefferably subtle versions that don't void a warranty (or can be swapped back out at service time.)
See a few folk recommending the Hyperflow intake (http://hyperflow.com.au/index.php?widge ... cai-my08ck) and going for the Xforce exhaust.

I've got an xforce setup on the FTO & love it, any good for the Scoob? Same with the intake? Or do you folk just recommend a good K&N or similar panel filter?

Cheers for the input!

Welcome [again :) ]

Re mods.... what is your preference/priorities? Looks/bling, driveability, power?

re intake - henry (rrussh) has installed the hks super suction kit, you could PM him to ask for his views

Re exhaust - it comes down to personal preference, with noise being a key consideration factor. Both henry and I have gone with HKS TBE setups, which is louder than stock but not heavy on drone.

Kev (Camo666) has the xforce setup on his GenV sedan... its louder but still sounds great

If you are looking at other improvents in handling, consider some swaybars and upgraded lower control arm bushes. tradeoff is better road handling and feel of road, but with a bit more road noise thru steering wheel and stiffness of ride

Thanks for the reply mate :)

Very much looking for the sleeper feel. I've already got a boy racer Mitsubishi, this one is the daily drive, just looking to improve on what it's got without attracting too much attention.

And thanks to On2youliberty for hooking me with a K&N panel filter for it, surprisingly made more difference than I thought it would.

Was looking at Swaybars, it does feel a bit boat like when throwing it around. Do you guys go for the Whiteline stuff? I've used it on my Mitsi with no complaints.

Still waiting on my Enkies & grille to come in to the dealership, in the meantime had the front windows tinted to match the rear (as best he could) & ditched the hideous yellow plates.

Be areful with your K&N filter... they are very oily and the oil builds up on your MAF sensor.
I had to take mine out for that very reason. Should be alright though, just check your MAF regularly and clean it if needed.

Invidia turbo back exhaust for the Gen5 is also a good option. No issues like the Gen4 dump pipe not fitting a RHD car, as the Gen5 turbo design allows LHD/RHD parts to be interchangeable :)

Thanks again for the tune last week Matt. Car pulls like a freight train now!

You were gonna flick me the link to that exhaust :)

Enkies finally arrived. Threw a coat of paint over the calipers to complete the picture :)

Just need to drop her an inch or 2 & the look will be complete.

Oh & if anyones interested, I'm looking to part with the original rims. Make me an offer. 18 x 7.5" not a single bit of gutter rash.

Sometimes yeah. And that traffic was rubbish. Took 20 minutes to get from the old Bunnings to the Maccas!

Got bored this arvo lol. Painted up the rear calipers, threw on some high temp vinyls. Can you tell I want to pull shit apart & make it bigger, better, faster but can't because warranty?

Couldn't help but notice how tiny the rear swaybars are :?
