Plastidipped grille goes very well with the black plates. :good:
I got this plan. It's called 'Save Ass'. And the way it works is this - I slip outta one of these windows and I run like a bastard!

Close up picture of the Armor-All grille and STi lip which I installed during the week. :)

Unfortunately, just camera phone photos:

Bit of an update for my rear Whiteline sway bar.

Put some Nulon Xtreme Performance Grease on my "grease free" bushings. Took it for a spin and it's not creaking anymore, which is great. I'll see how it goes though.

Also put some longer bolts through my AVO HD mounts as the stock ones are far too short.

Hmmm

I've been thinking about getting wheels for my GT.

I'm not really sure which way to go. I won't be lowering my car in the future, and the two wheels I've considered are WRX MY11-MY14 17" wheels and the Spec B facelift 18" wheels.

I'm fairly open to what might be good, I just felt like black wheels would need to be glossy or silver wheels. The WRX wheels would look a bit washed out, on my car, I think but I like the way they look. I'm a bit of an OEM fan, but I'm considering aftermarket too.

I didn't really want to spend any more than 1k with tyres, used.

Any suggestions of what might look the goods?

Thanks to Enigma, I got myself some Spec B wheels for my GT. He did a beautiful job wrapping them up and shipping them to Melbourne. Couldn't be happier.

I love the look of them. Give the car a bit more of a sporty look, thats for sure. The tyres make much more noise than my old tyres on my 17's, but I can't complain. It's amazing how much more you like things when you own it yourself. Even Newport Blue is really starting to grow on me!

Nice day in Melbourne so I took a few photos as I do when I basically do anything with the car. :)

Hi Chris,

Really liking the way your car is looking mate. Our cars are almost identical and it gives me a good idea on what mine could look like with the plasti-dipped wings on the grille. It's amazing how subtle differences can make a car's appearance look.

Nice job. Will be keeping a close eye on your progress from now on.

PS. The Sti lip looks tonnes better than my Ultrex version IMHO
Cheers

Thanks Shav!

A few little updates;

Finally installed my Sat Nav. Purchased it before I purchased the car, last September! Was an absolute job and a half and I'm really glad it's over.

Got some Pirelli P1 tyres to replace my P Zero Neros. Much more quiet but not as grippy, I don't think. Haven't really pushed it, but I'm pretty sure they aren't.

Also got some LEDs for the interior lights and boot light. Makes a nice difference.

Finally, ordered a DAMD steering wheel. Not the D shape, but the other version. Been thinking about it for a while, had a bit of a stressful day and just pulled the trigger on it. Looking forward to its arrival.

Took it up to Mt.Dandenong on the weekend, just thought I'd take some photos with my new iPhone.

Got a rear STi bootlip spoiler (actually purchased the entire boot). It has a few scratches on it, which isn't ideal, but I'm working away at them.

Still haven't got photos of my steering wheel, but will do!

I like the rear bootlip Chris. Looks the goods. Hows did you find the car in the twistys?

Thanks Shav! It's not bad in the twistys, I think the rear swaybar makes a bit of a difference. Didn't push it too hard with my suspension and broken bolt though. Looking to get it fixed soon. :)

Restored my headlights over the New Year's period with Meguiar's Headlight Lens Correction Kit:

Before on the left, after on the right.

Turned out pretty well, I think. I'll be interested to see how long it lasts though.

Nice work on the lens correction. I masked up around my headlights when I did mine, and when I pulled the tape off I ended up lifting some of the dodgy paint the dealership did from the bumper. I was pissed as you can imagine. It's touched up for now, but I have plans to respray the front and rear bars as well as add a few cosmetic improvements.

Your car is looking super nice now Chris.
Cheers
