That will be a weapon if you get one of those. MSR's track car makes 360wkw with a 1.5 :good:

How much horse power is that ?

Newbie, have you tried:
http://www.convertunits.com/from/kW/to/horsepower+[international]?

Or http://www.google.com.au?

I find they're both really helpful. :)

Stop it Alexi :)

I'll put up with your jokes ... For NOW anyway

I don't think Alexei is joking, he's deadly serious - you are Newbie GT. I'm 100% convinced!

Such a Newbie GT question... how hard is it to do this?

Holy Jesus. 360wkw through a 71mm compressor! Let us call that 485whp. That is almost unbelievable.

im positive that dyno reads pretty high compared to melb dynos

Compared to the dyno they test Saturn V rockets on.

Can't see a "true" 71mm compressor doing 485hp atw (520hp at the fly minimum)

Before anyone says it - gtx3071 can do close to that but then again with the extended tips of the gtx wheel, a gtx3071 is closer to a 75mm wheel

1.5xtr is essentially a GT3071 with a smaller rear wheel and mistubishi style housing.

I'll dig up a dyno sheet for you guys. I've no doubt his dyno like all nsw dynos reads higher than vic dynos, but still an impressive output.
Turns out I was off by 10kw... 350kw :D

P.s. I highly doubt it has standard heads and cams, Michael just wouldn't have bothered filling that out. It's obviously a built engine being his race car.

Very impressive power curve right there irrespective of the number

I wasn't having a crack at msr or his dyno - it was more a clarification for anyone reading thinking they can make 350-360awkw with a 1.5xtr.

That just ain't happening ordinarily

I know you weren't knocking it, i was replying to GB's comment about it :-)
I'm going to MSR on the weekend.. ill ask him if his 1.5 is modified... could very well be.

Still alive :bye:

Recent modifications are a Radium Engineering pulse damper, which has made a noticeable difference to my long-term fuel trims (much more stable).
Benny - out of interest, if you monitor short term fuel trims with your BtSsm - do you find that if you lightly accelerate when going downhill, your short term trims go up to +10 or more? Or on the highway your fuel trims tend to be in the positive, compared to around town they are in the negative?

Still get the phantom knock occasionally (given that I've had the engine and turbo replaced, I'm pretty certain it is clutch noise - which would explain why it only does it under low rpm/high load - more strain on the clutch I guess). Setting the knock thresholds to ignore noise below -1.2 load helps, and I've added a Knocklink light as a visual safety measure just in case.

Another recent addition is a KillerB sump and baffle (which was initially intended to fix a slight leak around the sump seal - but turns out that is a leak from the oil pump, so now it has to all get pulled apart again.

Am yet to have the car put on the dyno with the new engine and ATP-silver turbo. Currently its running 18psi, but my mechanic says it would happily run more. The turbo probably doesn't shine until about 20psi. Might bump it up just a tad and put it on the dyno soon.

Kind of want to sell the car, as I'm a bit over chasing all these gremlins (not that they are big issues, I must just be a fussy bastard). Would never get the $$ I've spent back though... so maybe I'll keep it. Unless I can find someone that wants to trade it for a 4x4 with all the mods... 8)

Where on the parallel lines was the Radium damper installed?
No idea about stft's but I could email you some logs n LV's.
Which Knocklink did you install? I've got an older version with outrigger in the stash to put on the spare stock ej255 I'm slowly rebuilding, the one that's getting all the stage 2 mods and tinfoil hat stuff, also stashed. :P

My advice would be to drive a crappy car for a while, for comparisons sake, then save up for the fourby and mod it too

The radium was installed where the stock damper was (on the inlet side) - before the Y-piece that goes to each rail.
The return-to-tank for each rail then goes into the FPR (which as 2 inlets) before returning to the tank.

The knocklink is the G4 model (self calibrates). It's false alarmed a couple of times - the red LED that flashes is blinding at night...

Maybe next time you are in your car driving down a hill - are you able to turn o the fuel correction gauge and see what sort of correction it does if you lightly accelerate down the hill (rather than coast)? Just want to see if I'm chasing a gremlin that is actually normal conditions...

Yep I should be able to do that with my Tactrix :)

Some more bits and pieces on the way (mainly to fix some things).

Circo M119 front brake pads (replacing the Dixcel type M) - the Dixcel's weren't performing well on track days (only could do a couple of laps before the brakes would get hot). Haven't tried the Circo's on the track yet... but on the street they seem good - less screechy than the Dixcel's (although also had the rotors machined so maybe that helped).

Cracked the stock radiator... (noticed on the BtSSm tablet install the temperature hit 95 when parking the car and wouldn't cool down with the thermo fans on). Hopefully a crack from an ageing plastic radiator, and not something else causing it. Have a Mishimoto X-Line 3 row radiator on the way...

Also picked up a discount set of Whiteline KTA124 (adjustable control arm kit) - which should fix my rear tyres wearing out on the inside due to the increased camber from the coilovers. The KCA399 didn't offer quite enough correction.
