I thought it was about time I created a member profile so here it is. This is the second car I have owned. I wanted one since I was a teenager, so I bought one as soon as I reached my early 20s and got my first real job. The sound system was the first to be upgraded but as soon as I had financially recovered from that I moved onto the engine and have been working on it since. I haven't stopped loving it since I got it. I have to admit it does seem to carry some sort of curse. It took me over a year to get the sound system working due to unusual unstoppable noise issues that no one was able to work out. The disasters didn't stop there. The turbo I received was faulty and after it was repaired there was an exhaust flow issue that limited boost. All up I've probably spent at least about $4000 purely on rework and reinstall. I'd do it all again though. It's been worth it. Probably.

I'm a bit short on good photos right now. Ill add better ones later, probably after I've washed the car (i.e. never).

Here's my list of current and future mods;

Thats 242hp. So about 178kw. The torque should be a lot more. Not sure how long I've had it but it hasnt been working properly since I got it. It shipped with the housing from a much larger turbo so the air just went around it and now its not holding boost at all. STechnic think its a tuning issue, so its going back to ASG. Doesnt suprise me. Never before have I seen so few fucks given than at ASG. Unfortunately theres no one else doing custom tunes on AWD cars in Perth at the moment. At least no one good. Hopefully they get it sorted.

That lib has some mods, why no go fast??

Take back to ASG if not happy.....good luck with sorting the tune.

Yeh it was at STechnic today. They were trying to diagnose why the turbo was lagging and not holding boost. Tried driving it for a bit with the exhaust disconnected but it was a bit loud . They reckon its a tuning issue because in every gear except 4th (supposedly they only tune with 4th and don't even check other gears) the turbo would hit boost, then drop off, then spool again, constantly seeking and then loosing boost. On the way home I noticed it was doing it in 4th too. Could feel the engine giving little short surges at higher RPMs.
The power figure is close to where I want it to be but the boost peak is about 500rpm later than it should be for this turbo, its a bit slack on the bottom end, and the torque is a way lower than it should be.

Its going back to ASG but as I mentioned earlier I've never experienced so few fucks given than at ASG, so I dont have a lot of faith. I'm told theyre actually going to test drive it on the road this time. Test driving a car you’re tuning; what a novel concept.

Hey mate

Welcome firstly

Secondly - I don't know what rubbish they're feeding you, but a 6 speed manual with a 380xt with the conventional supporting mods should make at least 200 awkw with a good tune

The rubbish about tuning in 4th gear is ridiculous too. Yes power runs are completed in fourth but sounds to me like turbo dynamics aren't tuned correctly

Is there no other tuner in Perth that can look at this?

Why not get kido Matt into it on his next visit ?

ASG have a constant flow of excuses and STechnic arnt into the fine tuning side so they can help me with whether ASG is full of shit or not. No one else in Perth can custom tune AWD cars. Its either RWD only or just an off the shelf ECUTek flash without much proper tuning.
First ASG blamed the turbo (which was actually faulty), then when it was fixed they blamed the exhaust, that was bullshit so then they tried to convince me that the slow boost was normal for an aftermarket turbo and the power and torque results are fine hoping that I didnt know much about it. But I know this turbo spools way faster than that and I know almost everyone else with the same mods as me is pushing 200kw and well over 400nm. Of course when I say that I just get "every dyno is different and every car get different results". My cars engine mods are following my friend and fellow forum member Maj3sticCr0w (http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=14558). His car is insane from the moment you touch the pedal while mine is barely even faster than stock until 4000rpm and even there its not as good as it should be. The only difference apart from the auto trans and cobb filter is he has custom road tuned ECUTek and I have ASG.

How do I find out when eastern states tuners are visiting? I wouldnt mind someone else having a go.

Very true, don't think I'll be going back there in the near future.. Defiantly hit up Matt for a tune next time he's over.

I dont let them do mechanical work on my car anymore. They installed my down pipe and left one bolt loose and the other missing. They also broke all the bolts on all of Maj3sticCr0ws exhaust tips and misfitted the exhaust which yellowed his bumper. When I need work done I get STechnic to do it then pay them to deliver the car to ASG for the retune once theyre done. Its worth the transport cost to have someone who actually cares do the mechanical work.

How do I know when Matt is comming? I'm almost at the point where I'd b willing to help subsidise a plane flight to get him here sooner . I just want this sorted.
