K2 Gear Spec-Neo Dual Exhaust

With Phat GT to help with ordering and installation, the K2 Gear catback exhaust is finally aboard.

Took a big risk getting them becaues no one has ever heard them so I didn't know what they would sound like. :pardon: But I just love the titanium style quad tips.

To my great satisfaction, not only does the catback setup increase torque and responsiveness, but the sound is exactly what I was after. :yahoo: Quieter than the HiTech mufflers, yet a notch louder than the STi mufflers. At least the WRX burble is retained, albeit more subtle. But the exhaust is virtually silent (I'd say almost stock) from the inside during cruising, and gives a nice growl when I stomp on it.

Hope to get better pictures over the weekend. Sorry for all the pictures.

nice looking pipes but do really think you are getting more torque and throttle response with a catback?

Numbers wise, I'm sure the most one gets out of any sort of catback setup is 5 - 9 kw. And since more noise = more power, I'm sure the K2's are at the lower end of the increase bracket because they are relatively quiet.

But it's the real world driving perception that I'm giving feedback on. And from what I can feel, the car feels more responsive and has more kick in the mid to high end.

Umm, with the twin pipe catback piping and titanium style tips, you're probably looking at $2300.

Not necessarily... really depends on the design of the muffler.

Heh-heh. Well until they release a high performance muffler that has the same noise output of a stock muffler, that's just a general rule of thumb.
