Alright, I promised I'd write up a build topic when I bought my Liberty so here it is. It will now officially become a work in progress.

Reason I got the car? I blew the engine in my VS Bombadore and was in desperate need of a new vee-hicle. I managed to get the car quite cheaply with only 123,123 km (I know right) on the clock from a wonderful family out at Turramurra. After a little under five months of owning it, I can honestly say I'm in LOVE. It is the best car I've ever owned and has met my every need. I can't wait to join the bandwagon and start adding some mods and giving it my own sweet taste. Didn't particularly like the colour to begin with, but after seeing it in real life I kinda fell for it. And to those that posted in the topics I wrote when I was looking for a Liberty; well, YES. It is a wagon!

Engine Bay & Driveline:

Tyres, Brakes & Suspension:

Interior:

  • Leather
  • 3-spoke Momo leather steering wheel
  • 8-way power adjustable front seats
  • Double sunroof
  • 13-speaker McIntosh sound system
  • Genuine cargo tray (low dish)
  • Wiped and/or vacuumed weekly
Exterior:

Planned:

  • Full exhaust system
  • New number plates (TBA)
  • Fix driver's side foglight
  • Fix dents, scratches and get a professional buff/detail
  • Remove stupid sticker from rear window at windscreen wiper
  • Remove roof rack supports (bolts burred, gotta drill them out; two down, two to go)
  • Engine bay strut brace
  • Corazon or Zero/Sports grille
  • Gialla or Hanabi taillights
  • Resonator/muffler delete
  • 4300-5000K globes (Phillips Diamond Vision) for low beams
  • Philips X-tremeVision for high beams
  • LED lighting all round
  • STi front lip
  • STi oil filler cap
  • STi radiator cap
  • STi shift knob
  • STi wheel nut set (blue) and/or security wheel nut set
  • STi rims (in either that colour or this one)
  • Tune
  • Hawk Performance Ceramics brake pads
  • GT or Outback bonnet (for more HP)
  • STi rear trailing arms
  • 20-30% tints
  • Genuine cargo tray (low dish)
May be:

  • Slimline monsoons
  • Lightweight pulleys
  • Scuff plates

Enough said? Not really I know, but I am all ears for some modifications that can be done to either improve handling, performance or to make it so fast that The Flash will have a hard time keeping up (jokes). Any help or suggestions will be appreciated. I'll pay you in beer.

Here are some pics of her a week after the purchase.

Thanks guys! I'll try my best to keep the topic up to date as I continue doing things to this beast. In the meantime I am gonna try and give her a name... Suggestions welcome.

Ha ha, are there many of us dawesy? I've seen a fair few Liberty's driving around but most have been family stock ones...

Thank you very much alessandro132. You are right about the exhaust not sitting properly. After my first service at ICHIban, I was told that the exhaust piping has a bend in it, on the right exhaust pipe, possibly caused by hitting a rock or even nudging the concrete humps they have in parking lots. It was bought like that. I am not sure how I will go about fixing it as they said I'd probably need new piping, and for me to spend money replacing it over getting a new exhaust system (which is in my mod list) would be silly I think. I don't know.

If there's an easy fix for it then by all means let me know. It plays on my mind as well.

Avatar = cool.

They are cheap, but cheap isn't always good. Are they good quality? I've always wanted to get the STi mufflers... Worthwhile or not do you think? Can you get the tips separate? Probably a stupid question but I've never tried searching for them at all.

It's good to have people close. It'll mean more meets and more local events. ;)

Thanks mate. She will definitely be treated with the upmost TLC. Continually has been treated since I bought it. Washed weekly inside and out, 98 RON, best oils, etc. I plan to keep it for a long while.
