Ahhhhh what? :bad: will they even fit? Different bumper and wiring setup too with the DRLs

Also (someone else brought this up, Mihai I think) they are designed for LHD, so the light adjustment is suited accordingly. Your lights would be totally bonkers for RHD roads.

What are slimline monsoons? And please don't get USDM headlights...

Thanks mate. They are slim rain visors that go on your window. And after hearing these comments on the USDM headlights, I have changed my mind. Best that I stick with the ones that came with the car. ;)

peadya100 wrote:Very hard to get sti muffs... theyre hot property!
I bought my muffs from hi-tech in sydney.. theyre sti replicas but they flow much better. They sound great too!

I reckon! Can't find them anywhere, and when they are found, they're so expensive. I'll probably go for an Xforce set up, with STi tips. Ha ha. We'll see how we go. Thanks for the recommendation.

Yeah sweet. I'll can the idea then. Too much mucking around and these ones will do me just fine.

Thanks for all the supportive comments guys. Much appreciated.

If you want to tart your lights up a bit Gary, just put some HID's and LED parkers in.. they look very cool when done!!

I will definitely consider those options. Thanks man. I am in need of new lights and am planning to get some Phillips Crystal Vision globes. I'll see how they work for me and go from there I guess.

I think we're due for an update! I purchased some plastic push screws to add the JDM battery and ABS covers and I must say my engine bay is looking very presentable. Also got a pic of my new STi strut brace. Loving how things are coming along so far.

I just got back from removing my remaining two roof rack mounts (thanks go to Chris for this!) and picked up a pair of STi rear trailing arms. Now I just have to work through my list of things to get. Next stop will hopefully be working on the exhaust.

Yeah I did actually! Thanks to Chris. He had some drill bits that worked like a charm. Finally the car has the nice uninterrupted curves it's known for. Looking real good. Thanks man.

I'm gonna try and be a little more active on club.liberty. I feel like I've been neglecting it a but too much.

A few days delay, but here are a few photos of the STi rear trailing arms I managed to grab. They're not the best quality pics but I did what I could at the time with WD40 and dirty on my hands.

In all honesty, I have definitely noticed a difference. The arms themselves seem to be made out of the same material as the OEM ones and are identical in shape. However I did notice that the bushes on the STi ones look that much better which is where all the difference is coming from. They just look much more heavy duty... The rear deals with bumps, humps, holes, rocks, asphalt, etc, from the roads significantly better than before. You don't hear and/or feel as much of a 'thump' as you used to when driving over a speed hump for example.

I think this was definitely money well spent.

Things I have bought so far in order to get my car that much closer to being mechanically full-proof:

  • LH front wheel bearing from a MY07 3.0R SpecB wagon (88,000 km old) - $72 including postage
  • Whiteline lower control arm bushes - $125.90 including postage
  • Full Bilstein suspension in near new condition (only 600 km old) - $547 including postage
I'm just waiting on the suspension to come in (Monday or Tuesday next week) and I'll be making my way to ICHIban to get it all installed. I will then take advantage of the $110 price that Pedders charge for a full front and rear wheel alignment, which includes adjustments to camber, toe and caster where applicable. After that the wagon should be pretty sweet for some time. It'll just need new shoes which is what I'll save up for next.

Absolutely cheering on how things are coming along and I appreciate all the help I've received with regards to getting parts and help. Thanks so far for that guys.
