Stickers will always be subjective on any car. But these stickers are neat and not balls out in ya face. Location will come down to personal preference. Some have it top and mid screen, others on the side and all sorts of places, but if I had your car, that is the exact place I would be putting the club sticker. :friends:

Put the new Hi-Tech Mufflers on this afternoon. They look great IMO.. and the sound changed a lot more than i thought it would considering its still got the standard exhaust. Fingers crossed it wont get too much louder when the new exhaust goes on.. its perfect at the moment.

The left muffler sits a bit lower than the right, but ill get MSR to fix that up when i see him in a few weeks.

Thanks Nathan!
Interesting people to deal with at HiTech. The website quoted $$ for the mufflers, over the phone he quoted me the same $$.. then when i went in there he tried to charge me $$ + $60 freight. Even though it was stock he had in the shop. He thought it was my responsibility to pay his freight costs for stocking his shelves. Needless to say i strongly disagreed and got him to wave that. hahaha

hahaha, its going to get a fair bit louder when the dump and centre go on. looks really good though (so many members have had to figure this out the hard way).
Mick will straighten up the mufflers when the Y pipe goes on. The Y pipes never fit perfectly anyway.
Take up your standard mufflers and make sure you are OK with the noise before you have it tuned.
If you change your mind a few days later like i did, you need to put the standard mufflers back on and then have it retuned again (another $300 for retune).
Good luck with it.

Damn you Peter.. now you have me worried!
1 thing is for sure, i can fully appreciate why people say the wagons are louder. Mine doesnt drone at all, but its defintely louder inside the car than outside. Ive listened to a liberty GT on youtube with HiTech mufflers and a 3" system and it doesnt sound much different to what i have now.. im guessing it will sound deeper with the 3" exhaust. If all else fails i now have a better bargaining tool for some STI quads now that i have some HiTechs to swap for them

Ive had a crazy idea!
What if i got something light and large like a bean bag and put it in the boot? That would prevent the bass from the exhaust bouncing around in the boot and making the exhaust sound louder inside the car. Not practical if you need your boot space all the time, but for someone like me that rarely needs it, i can just leave the bean bag at home when needed.

Sound experts please consider and get back to me

just wait till the mufflers carbon up before taking any drastic action for sound deadening.

Other than that mate, the mufflers look the treat.
Cheers

I thought about dynamat, but its too heavy... and if it didnt work its near impossible to remove without leaving a huge mess. As it is now i really like the exhaust note so there will be no need to worry about sound deadening unless it drastically changes with the 3" TBE. Im just thinking of solutions just in case :)

I bought some Hi-techs a while ago from a member but they came off a sedan, so the tips sit short. (Didn't want to miss the opportunity of buying some for a good price)

How do they line up on a wagon? From the photo it doesn't look like they extrude past the bumper.
I might chop mine an inch from the muffler, add about 1-2 inches of steel then weld the existing tips back on.
I got quoted $300 to get all 4 extend- F**k that!

I think they sit perfectly.. they only stick out about 2cm. Ill post a more side on shot in a little while to show you. Theyre not lined up very well at the moment though but the tuner will fix that when he puts the rest of the exhaust on.

$300 to get tips lengthened seems way over board!! I would expect to pay $100 max.
