great idea Adam. Well done, it looks good. Glad some of that noise has been rectified inside.

Is it much work to dynamat? I'm thinking of trying this in my sedan, but can't say I'm 100% sold on the foam layer. How much did that set you back anyway?

Dynamat takes a bit of time. Need to apply it to the floor pan of the boot. Its weighs more compared to acoustic foam. Costs more I can imagine too.

Dynamatting is a big job.. its basically like a tar with a foil backing so it gets all over you and the foil slices the sh*t out of your fingers. You have to roll it all on to make sure you get a good seal. To dynamat your bootspace and under the rear seat would cost you around $300+ id guess, and will add around 20kg to your weight, and youll never get it off if you change your mind. The foam only cost $120, and is obviously not a permanent solution. Ive had cars with dynamat for audio reasons, and i highly doubt it would be as effective as the accoustic foam. Try it and let me know how it goes though :D

Wow that's more than I thought.

Did you cut it yourself or did they?

Could use these http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=AX3662

and stick it to current boot liner?

Or these? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/CAR-5Millime ... 3f20790ae2

The jaycar one is much cheaper than dynamat, but it wont work as well as dynamat. Dynamat is expensive because its really good. But if you went down the jaycar route, im not confident it would make much difference. Plus its permanent, or close to permanent.

The foam? I didnt have to cut the foam myself. Clark rubber cut it for free. :D

Do yourself a favour and line your boot with pillows just to see if foam will work for you. Thsts how I tested mine but wagons might be different to sedans.

$200 of dynamat has done outer and inner skins of all 4 doors, the rear parcel shelf and under the rear seat of my car. With a few sheets left over which I'm not sure what to do with. I went a bit crazy covering every square inch of the panels I did, but an awesome improvement. My car doesn't make any exhaust noise I can hear inside the cabin so I haven't bothered doing the boot.

Worthwhile going for dynamat, if the cheap stuff falls off in the heat and sticks to a window or something inside your door you're going to have fun cleaning it up...

if your just looking to reduce drone frome exhaust "Dynamat" make a product for this instead of using "Dynamat Xtreme" which is for audio quality/vibration reduction

http://www.dynamat.com/products_automotive_dynapad.html

apparently this "Dynapad" reduces outside heat and also low frequency noise

I have never used this product or heard any feedback of anyone who has, just saying that there are different products for different purposes

i have half my car covered in "Dynamat Xtreme" it does reduce a lot of outside noise, but mostly keeps the inside noise, inside.

Yeah. Tune, exhaust and inlet.
Cant wait... as you can tell!
Would love to get a result similar to yours... seems to be about where MSR gets them to with my mods.
