Hey All

Image

Before any mods (about 3 months after i bought it and moved from NSW up to NT)

Bit of background info:
I was on this forum nearly 12months before i bought my MY07 Pearl White Liberty 3.0L Spec. B (wasnt a member just prowled the forum learning a LOT before i took the plunge), am very glad i did (got it 2nd hand 3 years old, good nick)

i always do some type of mods to my car's whether it be as small as a headunit upgrade to headlight globe change.
I had my audio system installed from my VZ Commodore into the new liberty and let me tell you, the company i chose to do this couldnt have been a worse choice, i would have done a better job high on crack, honestly this was in April 2011 and I am still fixing their damage :angry2:

From this costly and ongoing mistake i have learnt the only person you can truly count on to take care of your pride and joy is yourself so i have gotten into the DIY with a GREAT deal of help to this forum's walkthough's making life a LOT easier, aswell as having member's like the PHATMAN and LEO to take our hard earned money oh so easily

I thought zch91 was a custom plate of yours? what are you trying to relate it to?

thats one of the few perks of the top end, cheap custom plates

Yeah well I moved from QLD recently, so that was my plate there. I actually ordered some plates today. I got 'ZG' - my initials.

Car goes in for spray painting tomorrow, will be good to finally stop getting flakes of paint in my wash mit

new bar arrives in the morning, fix up the bonnet stone chips and a few other little bits and pieces and i should be laughing

also before the rear bumper had a little touch up i decided to remove it to add some weight to it to stop it flexing and rattling so much (see below)

Car is back on Monday (25-03-13) resprayed bonnet/rear bumper/new front bumper/some other bits and pieces

am very excited, the spray painter is quite pedantic (which is a good thing). He showed me the car on wednesday and said i could pick it up late thursday, i then saw him on thursday only that the bonnet wasnt 100% u to his standard (i honestly could not see what the hell he was trying to show me was wrong with it but he wasnt happy so i let him continue on). i then spoke to him today (friday) and he said there were a few broken parts inside the engine bay that he had fixed up (no extra charge) that looked liek they had been bodgied up in the past, aswell as reminding me i had a cracked foglight, he said he had ordered one in for a customer last year but they never showed up so he sold it to me for $100 brand new still in packaging (i am hoping this is the exact part probably good i haven't paid him yet haha)

so all in all it will be ready on monday and i get to stop driving the work truck around everywhere (mitsubishi 2.0l canter) too much power for me

i will post up pics when finished (i know most of it is just fixing it all up but i am way too excited to get the car back after a week)

Sounds like you found a winner with your spray painter.

I'm still not quite sure what the dynamat in the rear bumper is achieving tho??

the sub was flexing the rear bumper so i thought to add a bit of weight to the bumper to help reduce it resonating

ill post up some pics when i get the car back of the sub in the boot and some interior shots once i fix up some of the wiring behind the headunit and fit it all back together

i also think i went a bit overboard with the stuff, but most of the car is sound proofed anyhow so i dont have much use for any leftover, perhaps behind the panel the licence plate bolts to, i have a few pieces left i think ill take that off and see if i can reduce the plate flex, im getting a slight rattle after i raised the rear number plate
