Headlight restoration soon also?

Yeah the headlights aren't looking their best, I tried some of that PlastX polish that Meguiars make and it did help a bit. I'll have to get a rotary buffer or something onto them I think.

Thanks shav

Oh where did you get the pedals?
I've been tossing up whether to try and find some Subaru ones or just to get so Momo ones I was eyeing....

Can't wait to see it with the lip spoiler, it really finishes the rear end

Pedals are off JapanParts, around $70. Cheaper for M/T actually

Yeah I'm excited about the spoiler, had a few tips of good places to get it painted and fitted so that'll happen over the next 2-3 weeks.

Daniel,

I think we discussed this. First you'd need a bigger turbo, with some supporting mods. Then you'd need injectors, fuel pump and E85. Then you'd need a bigger turbo to max out the injectors. Then you'd need a gearbox rebuild. Then you'd break your 10 year old motor and have to build a forged one. Then you'd snap an axle or break a driveshaft, carbon fibre is your friend here. If you're still running standard brakes at this stage, they will need to be replaced with Blingbos. Of course you'll need coilovers and some wheels to clear the Blingbos. Cage it and go set some good lap times.

Then the poor old car will start falling apart around you and you'll have to get a new one.

lol! That's quite a story, sounds extremely expensive. I do plan on doing some power mods soon, thinking injectors, fuel pump and a larger turbo. Want to keep low rpm spool though, as close to stock as I can

Now that I am not drunk, I recommend leaving it close to stock.
That said, bigger pump and injectors + e85 as it become more readily available would be a good thing. Maybe one of those vf34 style rebuild on a td04hla too. All adds up pretty quick though. Ask me how I know.

What are your thoughts on the vf36 or vf42? Would either bolt on with relative ease?

How about a vf52 sitting on a wrx manifold? Add a post facelift aftermaket top mount (to match compressor outlet flange) some bigger side feed injectors and a drop in pump. Would be great and not too distant from stock spool. And, boxer throb which everyone but me loves.
Take it from me, dont go much further than that.
Oh I might have some spec c dual avcs cams that would drop into your heads....(don't take that seriously, it is an engine out job).

My oh my us my04 boys are really starting to become well versed in details and acquire expensive tastes

Ferret - if you don't want to spend 20k, then id stick to the following:

Vf42 or vf49, twin scroll exhaust manifold (both from rising sun), id1000's, tbe, fmic or stock jdm Sti top mount, eflex and make 230-250kw atw all day. If you're really keen you could do the cams Ian speaks of (which are quite good cams)

There's about 6-8k worth of work in that including parts, labour and retune.

If I had my time again that's what I would do and be done with it

So basically: vf42 or go single scroll vf52 or equiv, new manifold, bigger injectors, fuel pump and top mount? All up looking at between 5 and 10k?

Could be a while away then :?
