Minor suggestions to Simon;
For panning, maybe jump on a skate board and crouch or sit on it and roll along the cars. Also might wanna aim a little higher, the shot seemed a bit too low.

Also if you've got a zoom camera you should shoot from afar and zoom in that way you dont get any reflections of yourself or anyone in the shot.

Thanks for the feedback Eric :) will keep them in mind for next time!

awesome Simon!
should have done some more with my DSLR on the day. wasn't sure what you wanted though.
i was thinking we should have some kind of device that makes it smoother for the pans

Yeah - when we do our next one, feel free to go wild with your DSLR vids/photos. said device is a good idea, but not sure what.... almost like a baby stroller (something with rubber wheels)

Given we pretty much did it on the fly, and my first time doing it, im pretty happy with the result :D ... and a good benchmark to build off!

You can buy camera stabilizers. There's expensive ones that have like a gyro motor and other stuff but they run into the thousands lol..

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Glide-Gear-D ... 46204e84cd

This ones quite cheap and shows a video of it in practice, although looks quite unsightly lol... I might even buy one seeing how cheap it is. There's some for the Go Pro on Ebay which would be of good use to you when you go skiing. So combine one of these stabilizers with a skateboard or baby stroller lol and you've got yourself a good smooth pan shot.

Sorry for spamming up your thread Michael lol :D

Satogixxer - Thanks so much for the NAV HACK. I purchased the 2011 MY11 Liberty GT Wagon and had a usb input installed. It has driven me insane not being able to change album or artist whilst driving.
I'm going to give the Hack a go this weekend. Fingers crossed. With all your pictures and explanations it should be easy... hopefully!

just a quick question, how do you check the status of the park etc?

And where do you load the latest GPS DVD? i was going to try and download the latest, just dont know where it goes.

Sorry if this is blatantly obvious.

Thanks,

Dave

Good luck with the nav hack, it isn't too hard to do.

There's a link to the full guide in my post (this one) which explains how to access the diagnostic screen.

Nav DVD is hidden behind the McIntosh bezel - see here: http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=21765&start=30#p371865

Thanks Mick!

Yep I'm happy with the time and speed, but I also know I can do better next time!

I can understand now why people might get addicted to the drags. Having never been before I don't think I understood, now I do... and feel that need to find the next few tenths. Loved it. God help me.

I ran a 13.519 @ 105.74mph with a 1.918 60ft. Tuned by Scott @ Insight, but with LC/FFS patch added to that tune by Matt/KiDo (best of both worlds? ).

Nice pass Michael, well done.

Would have been interesting having the other car “almost” side by side the whole way down the pass…. Keen to know what the other car was?
Not a soobi anymore, but still slightly dirty

Neck and neck it was. I don't know what the other car was, I think it was this one - what is it? (doesn't look particularly special)
