Thanks! Love it!
Where's the scavenge pump located: is that it right next to the oil collector?
(Fabrication student research :P )
Pierburg scavenge pump?

No idea to be honest - I double checked my invoice details but it doesn't list what was used.

Intriguing, I guess I'm forgetting GenV 2.5t must have a stock scavenge of some type...

Some more progress has been made over the past few weeks.

CAN bus has now been decoded, so running the Emtron ECU as standalone and the stock ECU has been completely removed.

As such now having some nice features of the Emtron added, and able to use stock switches via CAN to toggle/activate various things. Bit of a work in progress still, but so far have:

- SI-Drive switch set up with some different boost and throttle maps.
- Launch control can be activated, and looks like it will work heaps nicer than the old LC/FFS patch of the stock ECU (i.e. holds revs steady unlike the "bounce bounce" rev limit of LC/FFS patch).
- Anti-lag mode toggle, works similar to the WRC "bang bang" method I think - i.e. when off the throttle, retard ignition timing and inject more fuel, so you end up with unburnt fuel exploding in the exhaust manifold to keep turbo spooled.

I have only tested the LC & ALS while stationary in my driveway so far  - but it sounds fucking insane, like a WRC car.

Still waiting on a few more things, like flat foot shifting and traction control.

Had the car back on the dyno as well, and unfortunately we seem to be maxing out at 380kw atw. Fuel pressure starts to drop, so looks like maybe a bigger pump is needed, or there is an issue with the fuel/return lines causing a restriction and not able to flow enough fuel. Hopefully can address this as there's certainly some more power in it if we can feed enough fuel. :)

Finally, the built gearbox is still a few months away. Currently driving on the temp gearbox, which turns out was likely from a MY12 and unfortunately the ratios are different. Pretty terrible to drive, gearing is so tall it feels like the car is geared for a top speed of 400km/h at the moment! (I haven't attempted to test this though  )

- Have a low boost setting set up in "I" mode of ~20psi (still spins wheels)
- "Sport" mode boost set to ~28psi I think
- "Sport sharp" mode not utilised yet - if we use it will probably only be for a different throttle map
(need to confirm these numbers though, forgot to ask last time)

No, just getting the broken box rebuilt with some custom straight cut gear sets for gears 1-4.

Stronger gears, dog shifting and still lighter than STi 6mt?
Do they "need" the side reinforcement plates like the 5mt?

I have no idea actually, just that it will be stronger gears and being straight cut / spur gears generally I believe this means lighter as well and less force applied to the case. Being built by PAR Engineering.

Most likely will be louder due to gear whine, but I don't care as long as it is strong (and car already sounds damn loud now anyway).

But I'm not too sure on the full details! All I know is I want it now, not in a few months time!

Sounds like a good time! There has been one guy to "treat" his gears in his transmission but nothing PPG/cut straight gears has been done stateside. Nice to see something custom. Good update! Get another pump ;) surgetank

Okay. :P

I took some videos when testing it a couple of weeks ago, so have finally compiled them into a little clip to demonstrate. :D

Audio quality is not the best, but you can kind of hear the nice pops & bangs when on the launch control, not so much with the anti-lag though (mobile phone is not the best recording device).

First with anti-lag off for comparison, then with it enabled.
Try to note the turbo spool whine when off the throttle with anti-lag enabled.

Also, I thought I should record some audio of what the screamer pipes sound like (before I have them plumbed back). Video/audio not the best due to HD Hero v1 (really should upgrade my GoPro).
Doesn't really do it justice to what it sounds like or how loud it is in person!!
