yes yes, fmic I know... wanted to keep everything looking stock in the engine bay though :) I'm not chasing big power, just want more low-end driveability. Auto gearing = ftl :(

Each to their own on this modifcation, but if you have the cash to spare then...........

If the amount of air is to feed into the TMIC via the scoop is the same, then how does this mod, which fits inside the scoop benefit the TMIC.

Maybe this mod is for looks only.

Does it actually direct more air over the TMIC if the amount of air going in is the same to begin with?

I am guessing it might have something to do with it being metal :)

Well I am intrigued now but still not convinced that this is a performance mod. I will be interested to hear your feedback on this part.

Well, I think it's being marketed as a diffuser, and is supposed to more evenly distribute the air coming in to the TMIC. I wouldn't necessarily call it a performance enhancement. More of an efficiency optimisation.

Clarence, how hard/easy was the install? I'm guessing it should be quite straight forward but just wondering if you encountered any snags?

I'm getting mine shortly and wondering what I should expect.

I'm with Dave on this one, I mean I guess it would help improve airflow to the cooler, but if the cooler is already inefficient in it's design (and location),

I think the watermisting onto the cooler would be a worthwhile mod? Had it in my GC8 and it worked a treat!

What it is supposed to do, is to distribute the air more evenly over the whole surface of the intercooler. Installation is straightforward, the hardest part was to get the stupid clips off the bonnet insulation! :(

Obviously with the end result of reducing intake temps? Purely out of curiosity, it would be interesting to see the before/after temps. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that it's a waste, just curious to know how effectively it improves the stock setup :)

I was talking to my dyno operator, he was interested to know too - however dyno time is expensive, and also I cbf taking the bonnet insulation clips off again, and his fan only does up to 60km/h 'equivalent' speeds.

hehe true.. spend $200+ on dyno time to justify a $200 part..

Clarence, I got a whole heaps of clips if you need some to replace.

They were spare when they repaired my front end meet with the Kangaroo.
