Hi

Thought i should get around to making a Members Profile seeing as i have been lurking around on here for some time now lol

Name: Ash
Ride: MY08 Liberty Wagon GT Spec B - auto
Location: Victoria, Ballarat

Little bit of back story, bought the car with a full service history in the books and the car driving nice with 82,000 kms on it, after a month of driving the auto started being very sluggish.
As i have a Mechanic as a family friend his son is also a Mechanic and works for Subaru and build Drag cars for fun, i instantly took it to them.
Seems the Trans and the Diff oils were never changed @ 50 thousand kms, so this done we also ran some Subaru Head cleaner through it and well.. the car felt MUCH better to drive!

Come first service of me owning it (car only had the cat back exhaust at this point) we noted upon dropping the motor oil it was very thick, anyway we did the oil change and put the recommended 10-30, the other thing we noted was that the Air filter was for a NA liberty and was swapped out for a proper air filter, and the rest of the standard service fluids changed.

That very same day this happend... this may be loud

(i had to make this video for my insurance company at the time for the assessor)

Anyway needless to say, as we assumed it was caused from bad fuel it had detonated.. after having the motor pulled out and sent to Dave at Frankston engine center the truth came out.
Motor had a faulty OEM oil pump.. from what he could see it was half f*cked before i bought it, and the mechanic that was servicing it was running thicker oil in it to keep it happy.
Needless to say it was f*cked now as it leaned out and went pop.

And the re-build began with a very nice tax rebate check and some savings..

lots of pics and stuff under the mods list of various stages of stuff happening enjoy.

I have another set of Caps that are painted black but i personally liked them stock silver.
And i got the Hellas connected but didn't like the sound of them so i just painted them white and left them in, i think they look neat. =P

Sucks when people just dodge things up instead of fixing them properly.

Should go pretty nice now though mate. Nice ride.

I prefered the stock standard shadow chrome wheels.

Is it just me or am i the only one that doesn't like black wheels on cars?
