Nice acquisition mate!

I recently installed the avh-8450bt in my car. Looks sexy esp. with the double din fascia as its slightly darker than the stock.
Make sure you grab one of the audio/visual cables (non branded is about $30- $50 cheaper than the pioneer one).

It's a pretty good head unit, ESP with the Bluetooth ;)

Hey kody,

not sure if you have already bought the tyres yet. What offset are you wheels going to be?

Assuming they will be around +35ish, If you do have plans to lower your car before the tyres you are about to buy are worn and up for replacement, I would suggest a 225 tyre.

The 235 won't have any stretch surprisngly. I ran a 235 for the track day on my xxr's and if you have your car lowered it will have a good chance of scrubbing... alot. I ended up raising my car about an inch or 2 and I was still having the occasional scrub here and there.

However for a standard height 235 will be totally fine of course :)

I already love it, with mods it will only get better. I love your wagon too by the way, very clean!

Thanks mate, I really liked the idea of app syncing with that head unit. I haven't made my mind up fully, but I definitely wanted something with CD/DVD, Bluetooth and enough RCA's and pre-amp voltage for my audio plans.

Thank you for letting me know! The wheels are +35. I was about to go for a 235, so thanks for the info! I've been told by a friend who works at Goodyear that stretching isn't illegal but will a 225 tire still be legal? I think I was recommended a 225/40/18 or a 235/40/18. Apparently 40's will leave no issues for scrubbing, but I have organised extra hours are work to fund getting the guards rolled, just so I'm doing it properly. I am planning on lowering it but at the moment I will probably go the lowered springs/new shocks (probably Bilstein if I can find some) as coilovers are over capitalizing on the car a bit, unfortunately :(

So last week, first on the plan was a detail/polish. Eight hours later, the car came up nice but I will still have my cousin (he's a detailer) come out and we'll do a buff coupled with a few detailer's tricks just to go that extra yard.

Over the past few days it got its service and I've racked up almost 1000k's since I got it XD. I did a drive to Maleny/Monteville up here in Queensland and had to come down in pouring rain plus thick fog, let me say as a Learner driver, Symmetrical AWD is amazing :D

Here's a crappy phone pic at Maleny, just as the fog began to roll in:

After a polish (phone again, sorry :()

I've got a few pics of a test fitment I did last week, I will be booking the car in for tires Monday, and guard rolling will be done as soon as I can get the guy to do it.
Does $300 for all four guards (coming out to me) seem like a good price?

I will be getting out a decent camera once it has the wheels.
Coming soon: Lip/Lip Spoiler... :)

Thats fucking expensive for guard rolling. Ask your detailing cuz if he has any friends. Im sure he can find you a cash job.

Nice looking wheels man. They look good in that colour.

My guards were 60 a corner.

I would expect to probably pay a bit less in a bigger city. Definitely not more.

Okay, so scrapped that guard rolling company, thanks for letting me know, I would have gone right ahead with it hadn't I have known.
The wheels will be on by Wednesday/Thursday.
I've been quoted $760 for four tires, wheel nuts and wheel alignment. Have found guard rolling for roughly $60 a corner. I'm pretty happy with that, could have gotten cheaper probably but I know the job will be done right.
Can't remember what tires they are (225/40/R18 size, silicone based and non directional as they're apparently better for Subaru's) but they're a fairly cheap tire, I'll upgrade later.
Pics will be up as soon as the wheels are on.

Non directional = proper tyre rotation options, e.g. front to back diagonally :D

I figured it was something like that... :D Makes sense now with symmetrical all wheel drive, non directional would make the balancing and what not easier?
cruisn wrote:I charge $25 a guard. :D

Well in that case, fancy a drive up too Sunny QLD? :D
Found a guy that will do it for $120 (whole car) but not knowing how his work looks makes me wonder.

Do you know what tyres you're getting yet Kody?

Im getting Kuhmo KU31s (225/40R18) put on this Thursday for the same price. From the reviews I've read they seem like a pretty decent tyre?

Embarrassingly I can't remember what they are, I went into the store before work, our friend told me what he thought would be best and it sounded good to me so I told him to book me in so I wouldn't be late :) They could possibly be the same if the Kumhos are not directional. Will know on Saturday I guess, if I don't like them I'll just have to wait until they're finished to upgrade :(

Bit of an update: WHEELS ARE ON :)
Guard rolling is next Wednesday when I get back from the Gold Coast for the V8 Supercar race.
I'm really happy with the way they look but worried about the front poke.
Is there any camber adjustment on stock suspension, or do I need a camber kit?
Also looking into coilovers but thinking it will be over capitalizing on a Safety Pack? Maybe just lowered springs + Bilstein shocks.

Finally, if any audiophiles could give their opinion on what I'm planning for the stereo:
HU: Pioneer AVH-P8450BT/Clarion NX501
Amp: Rockford Fosgate Prime R600-5 Channel Amp (Speakers + Sub)
Sub: Rockford Fosgate P3-1X10
Speakers: Infinity Kappa 60.11cs/Alpine Type R's/Focal 165 VR3 (can anyone can get audio parts cheap? XD)

Multiple pics (Sorry :))

My friend also had some LED's T10 bulbs from his last headlights which he gave too me, saved about $20 :P what a legend! Looking into getting angel eyes through HKS180 soon.
