Matt tells me this is normal due to the turbo holding boost earlier on in the rpm. If you are concerned it's something else, get it checked out by all means. But I hazard a guess it's the BOV venting like it should. Matt told me that my stock BOV was holding up fine. So there was no need to change it unless more boost was added. If Matt suggests you need a new BOV, then look into it. The 3 port will allow you to get on boost earlier, and hold boost longer. It should feel like it wants to pull a lot earlier and harder in the rpm and more smoothly.

Come to think of it...does it almost sound like a whistle bordering on a scream? lol. dont quite know how else to describe it.

Yerh..the BOV bit does make sense...but either way I rarely push the car that way so I just won't do that till Matt's visit to Perth....I'll uhh have to resist the temptation to push her when the urges kick me.

Did you also change your BOV or was it just the 3 port you did?

The noise you are describing sounds like a boost/air leak. It is fairly common (from what I have seen from other members) for it to be the pipe into your intercooler. Check all the joints on the inlet piping. Maybe get a can of 'start you bastard' or alike, and spray that around the inlet tract and listen for a change in idle. If it does change, investigate the area you were spraying.
It isn't the kind of thing you want to take into a tune, as it will cost a lot of time, and money on the dyno.
Kinda flush. Fitment is something. ADM as F*ck.

That's because Pat is meant to be studying and not be tempted by the FS/GB threads...

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind.

LOL.

The long story is exam is 29 April, and the bloke (John) was free this weekend and next but I'd be busy cramming. Then first week in May he'd be away at the v8's then week after that he's off and the week after he's booked. Hence end of may :)

Thanks J and Ian....I can't wait to see both your cars in the flesh - much has happened to your cars since I last saw you both...think its 1+ year ago now??

Coming for the June meet up? I've blocked my calendar out haha.

Yeh will definitely try hardest to be there Pat. Looking like being a good turn out for it.

No real performance just cosmetic stuff happening with my car unfortunately.
Hopefully have brembos re-painted, grill surround colour coded and perhaps rear slotted on too :good:
