Matt tells me this is normal due to the turbo holding boost earlier on in the rpm. If you are concerned it's something else, get it checked out by all means. But I hazard a guess it's the BOV venting like it should. Matt told me that my stock BOV was holding up fine. So there was no need to change it unless more boost was added. If Matt suggests you need a new BOV, then look into it. The 3 port will allow you to get on boost earlier, and hold boost longer. It should feel like it wants to pull a lot earlier and harder in the rpm and more smoothly.
kiahatsiu wrote:The noise you are describing sounds like a boost/air leak. It is fairly common (from what I have seen from other members) for it to be the pipe into your intercooler. Check all the joints on the inlet piping. Maybe get a can of 'start you bastard' or alike, and spray that around the inlet tract and listen for a change in idle. If it does change, investigate the area you were spraying.
It isn't the kind of thing you want to take into a tune, as it will cost a lot of time, and money on the dyno.
