Nice Karl!

I loved my gen2, definitely the 2nd best shape of the Liberty's

Thanks Hamish.

I was originally gonna get a gen1 RS wagon, (loved the shape when I was in school) but they don't do it for me now... or maybe its just the gen1 wagons... Gen3 I have never liked the headlights, and the gen2s just look tough with the projectors and bonnet scoop :D

And the gen4 is out of my reach whilst I'm trying to save big $$ (house/overseas travelling). This little beast will be sticking around for ALOT longer than my gen4 and ute combined hehe. Pretty excited to pick her up.

Looking forward to seeing this on the cruise :) Now we just need to get that POS Ute sold for you - maybe I should drive it for a bit, the Gen1 sold shortly after I borrowed it :P

Disclaimer: I have no desire whatsoever to drive your ute :P

It is auto, and has more kick than your Spec B ;)

Nah when I get a free Saturday I'll head on down to s private car yard and flog it off shit cheap. Rego is due Sep 1 so before then it has to GTFO. $281 for 3 months!

My SpecB doesn't drive like a boat though :P

Yeah, rego (October 18) is my time limit on the Gen3 too, so I'll be pushing pretty hard to sell it once you've got it tidied up for me on the 11th :). Still have to get that tiny scrape taken out of the front (going to do it, since I ended up having to pay excess anyway - I don't agree, but I can't be stuffed arguing with them, as it was it took THREE MONTHS?! I haven't told them yet that I'm selling it and have a new car that is NOT insured with them) and Dave did suggest getting the spoiler resprayed anyway and just jack up the sale price to compensate... I dunno.

Anyways </thread hijack>

In short. rebuild motor or 2.5 bottom. single turbo, probably Taylor's HKS, manual conversion, wrx 4/2pot brakes, custom strut braces and body braces, cheap coilovers and some sexy wheels like yours, but 17x8 with some nice studs.

Thanks Cliff.

Finally sorted the date I'm getting it - Wednesday night! Woo.

Getting some gen4 coilovers with a broken mount on the 18th, I'm going to repair the snapped mount, and then see if I can strip down the rears and modify them to fit the gen2. I have some stock struts from a gen1 (same mounts as gen2) So I will cut them up and get the mounts to weld onto the coilovers and I'll probably make a top hat, or some form of adaptor plate to make it 3 stud (camber adjustable).

Currently trying to buy a gen3 B4 McIntosh headunit and amplifier with cable and front speakers out of a B4 I did an upgrade to. Hopefully I can persuade him to sell...

And have some other small things I'm working on too. It's already underway and I am yet to buy it haha.

Surely it would be cheaper and easier just to do an aftermarket stereo with a better end result then using the b4 gear?

Either way there is big potential for this project ;)

The cost is about the same, but I like the OEM look, and it sounds great IMO.

Update: I have taken ownership!

Stupid iPhone doesn't sync with the bluetooth system haha.

To do: Service, find/fix interior trim rattles. Remove bluetooth and chuck it on gumtree, bleed coolant rush out, fix vacuum leak. Order parts hehe.

Another issue noted: transfer clutch or centre diff is binding, don't care. Gives me a reason to shortlist manual conversion.

Wanna get it on the hoist on Friday to give her a check over but from the receipts provided I have learnt it had new front pads/rotors 18 months ago, timing belt was done 2 years ago and is due, new pads were fitted in Feb along with 2 bob jane xenon tyres, and 2 were also fitted about 12 months ago (ew, grip fail). And a whole bunch of other shit, but It was good to have some history on the car!
