A hair dryer did the trick for me. Just take your time with it. The seal is reusable aswell.

Yes will be taking my time, too little heat is better than too much!!!

Been scouring youtube a lot looking at them all. Some usual tips indeed to consider.

Heat gun is better than the oven and a really good hairdryer is safer than both if its your first time.....

Just heat up around the seal 'til you can seperate the two. Dont forget to remove the 4 or 5 screws also...

Liking all these suggestions of no oven, doing that scares the hell out of me

The gf's hair dryer sounds like a great idea. May take longer though I am guessing?

Big morning this morning with a few installs.

Bit of bling with 2x STi Radiator caps and the magnesium STi oil cover to match.

Installed perrin silicone inlet hose today. Man what a mission that was! As many have mentioned before, no skin on the knuckles left and a bit of blood left behind

Also chucked on my torque solution billet pitch stop while the intercooler was off.
Definitely notice this over stock and I'm sure will be even more with engine mounts when they go in.

Kobe Motorsport BOV place on as well. Great turbo whoosh but not obnoxious loud. Couple with panel filter and silicone intake pipeing I'm pretty happy for time being.
Am going to buy some vacuum hose during the week though to eliminate the coupling joint. Bit of blue bling hosing really haha!

Going on soon will be LCA bushes, TS Engine mounts, brake stopper and rear sway bar, links and mounts :D
Busy times ahead!

Pitch stop just provides a more solid feel when hard accelerating. Car seems to lift a little at the front and instead of jerk down when off the gas, it kinda "floats" if that makes any sense at all
Of course the LCA bushes going in will reduce this lift even more :D

Intake tube I can notice a HUGE difference in turbo sucking in the air. Had to do a late trip to the airport last night and the rush of air in is Definitly more noticeable over stock!

Oh I also dropped a nut somewhere in the engine bay :s

Any idea how to find the little bugger? I'm thinking it's gone and hopefully Doesn't get into anywhere important!

Hoping it just rolls on out of there with no damage!
Need to get myself a magnet on a pole for next time :good:

Got the whiteline ALK bushes. Post up how they go once installed.

Haha I did this too! I was even being super careful and I managed to drop it directly under the compressor. So unless I take out the turbo, it's staying there!

Great progress so far!

Can't hear it rattling so must of dropped out fingers crossed :)

Received my Cusco brake stopper for a bit more engine bay bling yesterday.
Will throw that on the car this weekend sometime.

Also rear sway bar, links and mounts are on there way to me. Have them next week and should go on next weekend :D

After that it's saving penny time for bigger tmic, dump and a tune!
