Auto Folding Mirrors

Postby hks180 » Sun Jun 17, 2012 9:41 pm

I've always wanted these .. but when Phat Gt told me the cost (if i had to get everything new ) the idea went down the drain~~~ After moving to my new place the garage is not as big as before, so i had to fold my mirror manually all the time to provide access. And i was thinking auto folding mirror would be nice ............next day I was lucky enough to get my hands on some JDM mirrors and controller.
Image
ECO button useless for me (might use as switch for something) factory xenon headlight leveler, again useless for me (but looks cool). heated mirror and then button to fold and unfold.
Image
the mirror i bought was blue, so had to take the cover off from my mirror.... otherwise car might look a bit funny.
Image
heated mirror vs normal mirror

spend few hours wire everything thing, i can fold and unfold the mirror without putting the key in the ignition. So the next thing i might do is get the module to fold and unfold when i lock and unlock the car door.
It's one of those thing you will love if you find it useful and can be one of those thing totally useless for you. But for me i love them ... :D
Another project off my list !

+1 Daniel

Always something I've wanted to do.. To be honest I have no real use for it, just another one of those things I want to do just to have it :D Any maybe to save a couple scratches on my mirrors from people walking past my car but that's about all haha.

Love it Leo.

i thought this was a feature on all legacy's/libertys, so whats needed to make them work? i have the spare folding switch and passenger side mirror if it would be of any use to anyone. It would be nice if i could get mine to auto fold when you alarm the alarm

Absolutley love this mod. The folding is a bonus... Heated is one of the major ones that I want as an upgrade!

Any chance of a detailed How To or does most of the instructions come with it?

Definitely wanted to do this for a while, have never been able to justify the cost though :(

With a post facelift would it be possible to wire up the headlight lever to the xenons? And just to confirm Leo, the ones you have actual do include the heating?
