Re: Auto Folding Mirrors

Anyone managed to get the heated optioned wired up? I've sorted the folding wiring but I haven't managed to work out the heating side of it. Looked at the FSM with not a huge deal of success either.

Any help is most appreciated!

I wanna say it’s just pos and negative power, eg key on power.

The actual details will be in the jdm FSM workshop manual: link in my signature.

I haven't got around to connecting the heated mirror circuit yet but when I did a cursory check of the wiring manual it seemed to just run off the same circuit as the rear defogger. Should be pretty straight forward assuming the draw isn't too much.

Early on in this thread folks were saying the cost is prohibitive; how much were we talking?

I just picked up a second hand pair (folding only, I suspect) for $220.

That’s a good price.
You just need the fold switch and a run of 2 core cable to each mirror from the switch.

Hopefully the car side plugs were included?

I got em to throw in the plugs from the door loom (one of em says Skyline on it in texta, and has a different pinout), but they're the same 8-pin plug as ours, just with seven wires instead of five (no heating). From Malaysia, same place my headlights came from. $220 included the switch unit, with all its plugs present, cut out of the loom.

There's a switch to the left of the folding mirror switch, which isn't present on my car; is that the windscreen de-icer? Maybe I could use it for something else...

If anyone wants a set of JDM electric folding mirrors, let me know. Includes the switch.

I've got a set that's been gathering dust for about 5-years and I don't think I can be bothered to get them installed.

BTW if anyone's interested, the folding mirrors are about 300g heavier for the pair.

Apologies for the late reply.

I'll double check and let you know via PM. Will take some pics as well.
