Hehe I can't wait either dubbwah.... I've got a hectic week ahead (as well as last week!), and havent been able to get around to installing them, but should have an update to share in about a weeks time :)

:yahoo: Installed today! - front Brembo calipers with Hawk Ceramic Brake Pads, Goodridge Lines, and T3 DBA4000 slotted rotors :yahoo:

Special thanks and kudos to Cruisn for his advice, sourcing the parts, and the v professional refurb job on the rotors (and shipping them up to Sydney).... I do have a slight problem though, I feel the pressing need to source the right brembo rears sooner rather than later

Quality of the install first pic is a bit noisy (poor lighting)

One thing that took me by surprise was how small the remaining clearance was between the rims and the calipers *just*

Definitely feel the improvement in braking performance too!

Looks great Simon. :good:

Definitely not much clearance with those rims and be careful when taking them off and refitting them as thats 95% of the cause of chipped Brembo's, banging the wheels against them when removing and refitting!

Looks great sym!
Know what you mean about the clearance, same on the 08 STi's. really surprising how little room there is between caliper and rim.
Makes cleaning a pain in the arse also

Go aftermarket wheels and problem minimised, speaking from G25's experience. :)

Liking the brembos on your Gen5, with obvious mods it makes it look MUCH better :D

Keep a lookout for a killer bodykit mmmm could look mease shizzzz!

Thanks for the great feedback fellas.... I'm loving the look (now I need to balance it out at the rears :))

Took a few more photos in a brighter light today... I did find out one thing, I find I take better photos on 'bright' cloudy days as opposed to sunny days (otherwise photos come out too glarey)

you could park on the edge of that shadow so there's natural fill light on the rims.
i.e. park in shadow opposite a sunlit wall. or on white concrete.
or use fill flash.
cloudy days can help as there is less contrast, the light is more even.
but good fill light is the key regardless.

Thanks Ben - and I'm looking forward to seeing your mounted polished brembos... pics pls!

And thanks for the lighting tips - I forgot about benefits/applications of using the fill flash during daytime... (one doesnt naturally think about using the flash when the sun is up!)

Just went back to your first page and looked at the original car again. Fantastic transformation. The brakes are a perfect colour match also. Car looks tough as. You must be all smiles as you drive it. :D
I got this plan. It's called 'Save Ass'. And the way it works is this - I slip outta one of these windows and I run like a bastard!

Thanks for the compliments Corsair! Cruisn much nailed it in matching the paint code of the calipers with the bodywork.

Yes many smiles and grins every time I get behind the wheel  :D  :D ...... and I cant help sneaking a peek at the calipers+rotors every time I jump in for a drive
