basically the pre facelift 3rb front bar sucks balls....its rather ugly, and mod-wise theres not much you can do to it.
genuine sti front lip looks the business. but $$$$$$$$$
ultrex one for the other front bars does fit....but its not perfect. plus quality isnt as good as sti one
ive seen some other ones out of japan but none really appealed to me/were cheap enough to justify over sti lip
so here goes. probably the most ghetto form of DIY mods you can do to your car.
ive seen the nasioc threads on the garage door seal front lip. if you havnt, go read some. because noone trolls and hates quite like the nasioc boys. its an art and they have it all sorted
this just spawned the same idea for me
went to clark rubber picked up this flexible rubber strip, 12x50mm. needed a bit less than 2.5 linear metres to do the bumper
wanted to get something a bit wider, like 70-80mm at least. didnt have any. might venture there again sometime, or try another store.
got some random nuts and bolts and washers etc, borrowed a power drill from a mate
car jacked and supported, and off to work
was basically just fastening it with nuts and bolts. used some strips of the 3M automotive doublesided tape as well, not sure how well theyll hold up but ill see.
no exact measurements, but unless you get out a ruler its pretty even on both sides
if i can be bothered ill get a permanent marker/black paint and go over these screw heads + washers, but probably wont bother. cant see unless down on ground anyway

so for the grand total of $50 or thereabouts and an hour or two, im pretty happy with the result
would like it to stick out more in the centre but need a wider rubber strip for that, am still on the lookout for that
as for those of you wondering about drilling into a front bar...you couldnt even tell if i removed this, unless youre down on hands and knees and really care about some tiny drill holes.
may consider doing something similar for sideskirts as another project, stay posted!
