Booked the detail in early December but then couldn't get the front bar fixed in time but it's not that big of deal for the detailer I told him the situation so he left the front bar alone!

Question: I found some black wheel nuts I like...
They have an internal key so u couldn't take them off the car without them correct?
Would I still need a set of lock nuts ?
Or would this set of 20 be effectively my lock nuts

Just got the lib serviced at S&J and also got my rear guards rolled while it was there.
They mentioned to me that I should replace my shocks coz they are worn and noisy
Which I knew then I asked how much to replace them got quoted 1100 fitted......
Yeah ok thanks I said.....
Hmmmm $1200 for brand new BC BR SERIES coil overs I hear ppl saying....
Yeah I think so...
so looks like my brake upgrade is on hold now coz apparently my suspension is more important....
I would rather however and this is just me thinking out loud maybe hold off on coil overs and just cheap my way with some second hand shocks that would have to be in better condition than mine and then doing my brakes and then do coil overs.
What's ppls thoughts on this worth it ? Or am I just wasting money.....?

Well, coilovers are definitely the end result you're after, and if you're planning on returning to stock once you are selling the car on - it would be handy to have decent nick stock suspension to drop back in. So buying some suspension for the interim between doing your brakes and then coilovers might not be such a bad idea, even though it seems like a waste..

That's my 2c anyway.

If not wanting to spend $1200 on coilovers...

Go $550-$600 on billies and sti pinks or s tech springs. I did before I went coilovers.
Sti pink springs are 15mm, s techs 35mm lower than stock. Both are about a 5kg spring up front, 7kg spring rear. Stock Billie springs are 2kg front 4kg rear.

I would say its about as firm as a 12-15 click (30 being the firmest) setting in a coilover.
Only down side is the ride can be harsh if you hit a pot hole. (Easy fix, drive around pot holes. General public will understand what your doing. I swear I don't get looked at funny driving all over the road to avoid sharp bumbs).

Then do brakes first then. A set of 4 gt brakes came up on the forum for $600. Big bad Benny is having a sale.
How many K's your lib done?
Most cars (commodores/fords) go their whole life without a strut swap. I like to think about it like this... They still work fine. Just wearing out and there is performance to be gained by replacing them. Ali's in the same deal With her B4. Factory billies have done 150,000. Worn out. I'm umming and ahhing to buy her coilovers or billies with STI pinks.

Yea mines doing its thing. On the road off the road on off road off road on road road off on on off off road.
Make sense yea?

Some pics up in my profile. It's all ready for new panels then paint. Should be back on the road by Easter at this stage.
