shift boot delivered all the way from poland, just need to check if ive got some superglue/adhesive then ill fit it up

coilovers have landed in aus, predicted delivery by wednesday :) s-techs will therefore be up for sale

sti front lip purchased should be here in a few days, wont install for a few months though (ski season wouldnt be too kind on it. think ill be changing back to stock grille and maybe wheels as well for the season)

also purchased a rubber boot liner off ebay - what with all the snow and dirt and crap from a ski seasons worth of boots and skis i think its a pretty good investment

who needs adhesive when you have double sided tape
didnt really need adhesive anyway as its wedged in place by the mounting frame thing (very technical i know). easy swap in swap out, very minimal trimming to the shift boot required
quick night-time flash pic, will try grab one tomorrow in daylight. the alcantara reflects light very differently depending upon the ambient/direct light

boot liner arrived, very good unit. perfect fit, should serve me well in the snow. pics to come

installed coilovers today as well :) didnt take pictures because ill get some for you all later
took maybe 4/5 hours all up...not bad considering i take my time + havnt really done suspension stuff before
hardest part aside from one bolt on the front left strut not wanting to budge for a good 15 minutes was getting the friggin wheel nuts off  tyre shop seemed to have fastened them on with some industrial-strength loctite! thank god for rattle guns and breaker bars
first impressions are very good, coming from the usual bilstein/stech combo these are a lot nicer. clearly if i got something like ohlins id probably think these are shit but its all relative
main key points so far;
-lot smoother
-way less bounce after going over speed humps
-more feel from the road (obviously, so slightly more violent over bumps. will muck around with damper settings over the coming weeks)
-wayyyyyyy less pitching, i.e. under hard acceleration during gear changes theres nowhere near as much lurching forwards

also height adjustment will be good

Good write up Ed

Gives me an idea of what to expect when I upgrade to coilovers. Great feedback on the reduced pitching too so awesome.

I also love the gear boot surround. Alcantara and blue stitching looks awesome and suits the blue theme

cheers guys
havnt updated in a while

yes jake im pretty bad in terms of taking photos so you have to be patient with me  hope the corazon emblem is treating you well

not much been happening recently, busy pretending to do uni work and more restaurant work (close to 40 hours in 3.5 days and a 21st somewhere in the middle of it made for a pretty busy weekend)
trying not to snap up more modifications and save money for ski season. might pop down to melbourne for a bit seeing as ill be halfway there, meet some of you melbourne boys :) )
only thing on my immediate to-do list is shifter bushings. and a complete overhaul at that. sick of the play in the shifter when in gear. i want it to be like a ratchet, overly-mechanical. no movement whatsoever. gated-shifter style. will call the phatman sometime soon.

and yes i did think at one stage about getting a custom shifter surround done in brushed aluminium classic ferrari style (see below). who knows i might end up doing it one day hahah.

ok fairly big update time, been away skiing for a while racked up a lot of highway kms :(

cusco rear swaybar and HD mounts picked up from michael@garage88, installed them easy no dramas.
whilst in melbourne i picked up one of the xcess motorsports front lips for the GT bars off another member, prefer the shape and theyre a 95% fit to the 3.0 bars so all good there

damd side extensions and rear pod skirts currently in transit from japan

commencing on monday i will be vinyl wrapping the whole car. matte dark grey. biiiiig project, got a few days to do it so should be do-able with the help of some mates :D

will make sure to take lots of pictures, also going to do a time lapse video with nigels go-pro
