Been a long while in between posts. A few small purchases since then...

Strut Brace

Coinbox

Badge

And I am perilously close to pulling the trigger on one of these...

And painting it…

However, the strut brace unfortunately doesn't fit my car and I will be selling it (it came from a 3.0 and supposedly fits all Gen 4's). I have also decided against the Legacy badge as I like the de-badged look I have currently. As for the rear window spoiler, I really want one and really like them, but without a rear lip spoiler to balance it out it may appear too ricer. Opinions would be very welcome as I am having trouble deciding! :D
I got this plan. It's called 'Save Ass'. And the way it works is this - I slip outta one of these windows and I run like a bastard!

Odd that the strut brace doesn't fit - where does it fall over?

And I agree - a rear window spoiler will look out of place without a boot lip spoiler.
I was going to procrastinate, but I put it off...

It's hard to say, but it just doesn't quite fit over all the screw threads. You can get on about 7 out of 8, but the last one doesn't quite make it. Disassembled it and tried to put on the parts seperately and couldn't do it. Gave it to my mechanic and he couldn't do it either. :(

Thanks for the input Jeff. Yeah, it probably won't happen I think...

Considering all the Gen4s share the same wheel base, it sounds like a manufacturing defect of the strut brace. If it was an STi one I bet it would fit no problems.

Interesting. When Phat fitted my strut brace we needed to jack up each corner separately to take the load off the three main strut bolts; only then would it fit. Once each corner was fastened the rest was a piece of cake.

Food for thought, what ever the reason though, it's a PINTA. :(

Maybe this is the way to do it... I certaintly didn't jack-up the car. Not sure if my mechanic did though.

Sounds like you're offering to do it for me.

Been wondering if I stick it in the lower RHS corner of the Corazon grille. If I don't, you've got first dibs. :)

Thanks Justin. Great to chat with you also. :hi: Appreciate the vote on the spoiler... after seeing your car though I wish I had a sunroof, so I could get a sunroof deflector too!

On a whim, I decided to use the Legacy badge I had sitting around on my glove box.

The rear backing was considerably more adhesive than I bargained for though and the moment it touched the plastic it started to stick, so the first place it sat is where it now lays... which isn't as central (nor to the side) as I would've liked sadly.

Still undecided on it, but the car has gone without a mod for awhile, so it gives me something new to look at on the way to work tomorrow. :?

Now if I am reading you all correctly, and I'd like to think that I am, no one likes it.
As mentioned I was pretty ambivalent when putting it on, so figured it would probably be a miss. All good.

Now to get off my ass and fix these spats...
